Everyone enjoys the stark contrast of before & afters and 50/50s. The worse it is when you start the better the results look. This is pretty lame for a Show & Shine as it's nothing but a simple wash. Not quite as simple as some of the southerners enjoy. I almost like it when my vehicles are really cruddy from winter because it makes the cleanup border enjoyable due to the instant gratification.

The befores are devoid of all the ice and snow crammed in the wheelwells and hanging from the running boards. You folks from southern climes will just have to use your imagination. ;)

The truck was sparkling before I made a quick run to the store... all of 2 or 3 miles and back. Not so shiney when I returned.

It cracks me up when I see Floridians using grit guards. You don't know what real grit is....

I'm thinking perhaps a small electric pressure washer may be in my future for these occasions.

An hour and a half playing with 3 buckets and some suds and normalcy is restored.

The first thing I tried Opti Coat on about 6 months ago was the wheel wells. Makes cleaning simple and easy.

No dressing on the tires BTW. I've discovered a quick wipe with a spritz of ONR at QD strength after a wash gives a matte, natural black finish and no gunk to scrub off next time.

Yeah, just a simple wash. Didn't take appreciably longer than a summer wash but it was infinitely more rewarding. You southern folks are being seriously deprived of one of life's simple pleasures. I could be persuaded to swap residences.. say... between November and April, in order to share the enjoyment. Hey, I'm just a sharing kind of guy :D

Good Looking Truck TL I don't miss the nasty roads during the winter......not one bit.

and the only thing I'm deprived of is..........well this is family forum...I better hush :D

I was hoping for pictures as I too share your pain of snow and dirty cars :(

I share your pain and suffering....

It's 8 above zero here this morning and 10" of snow came in yesterday. The roads are a mess and for the first time this season my truck knows what old man winter can dish out.

It is nice to take something that's covered in ice and road debris and uncover what's beneath it all.....:props:

I am holding off for the next couple of days. We had minor snow/ice yesterday and potential for rain on Tuesday. Yet, I probably will ONR my car tomorrow (maybe a wax booster too). Yes, I have a problem

71 here today TL! You should consider moving South

Well, geez, I offered a swap so others could enjoy washing their vehicles frequently. Are you taking me up on it?

TL <---- if there isn't ocean and orange groves you're not far enough south

Something is up with the site....they aren't working for me either.

Kinda weird that some see 'em and others don't.

Here's a quote of the whole original post. See 'em now?

Back in the late 80's I ran a lot of Monteal Que./Homestead Fla. turnarounds. I wore the heavy salt/slag as a badge of honor on my pristine 359. Sometimes the ice buildup on top of the trailer would fall off as I departed Winn-Dixie whse. in Little Haiti as I headed to Homestead to reload.

On the flip side, I could arrive in Que. totally covered by the insects from southern Fla. to the dismaying glances of the Canadian inspectors.

Chicken haulers demand clean trucks, but we only had 36-40 hrs to get from A to B.

So, yeah I do appreciate the stark contrasts. Happy Trails...

I don't see any pictures either. In other threads I can see pictures.

I've used Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox. Nothing.

Hey TL...

Your before/after post is truly a valid depiction of: You don't have to drive too far during Ohio winters to muck-up a vehicle!

Nice turnaround!!

Is it Spring yet?

:D

I tried quoting your original post as well, copied the IMG url's, and then entered them into the address bar of my browser. It opens up an image that is white and measure 1px by 1px?

Who knows :(
