Everyone enjoys the stark contrast of before & afters and 50/50s. The worse it is when you start the better the results look. This is pretty lame for a Show & Shine as it's nothing but a simple wash. Not quite as simple as some of the southerners enjoy. I almost like it when my vehicles are really cruddy from winter because it makes the cleanup border enjoyable due to the instant gratification.
The befores are devoid of all the ice and snow crammed in the wheelwells and hanging from the running boards. You folks from southern climes will just have to use your imagination.
The truck was sparkling before I made a quick run to the store... all of 2 or 3 miles and back. Not so shiney when I returned.
It cracks me up when I see Floridians using grit guards. You don't know what real grit is....
I'm thinking perhaps a small electric pressure washer may be in my future for these occasions.
An hour and a half playing with 3 buckets and some suds and normalcy is restored.
The first thing I tried Opti Coat on about 6 months ago was the wheel wells. Makes cleaning simple and easy.
No dressing on the tires BTW. I've discovered a quick wipe with a spritz of ONR at QD strength after a wash gives a matte, natural black finish and no gunk to scrub off next time.
Yeah, just a simple wash. Didn't take appreciably longer than a summer wash but it was infinitely more rewarding. You southern folks are being seriously deprived of one of life's simple pleasures. I could be persuaded to swap residences.. say... between November and April, in order to share the enjoyment. Hey, I'm just a sharing kind of guy
