Got a nice phone call today...

I take it since it's been restored that it isn't single stage. Is that correct?

If it is correct, then what's the rationale for using #7 at this point?

If it's single stage, why didn't you use #7 before the compound stage? (I suspect that the paint is not single stage...at least it doesn't look like to me.)

Either way it looks like your work is making a big difference already. It should really pop when you're finished with it.

#7 isn't only used for single stage paint. It works great as a final polish. It gives another depth of shine to the paint that's hard to describe.

Besides, that step really depends on how I do on time. This vehicle can not be pushed into wednesday. If I have to stop at 205, I will.

Nice Cougar!

Thanks! Yeah, the car is gorgeous. He was showing me pictures that apparently the person who did the restoration was working off of. It looks identical.

Pretty cool! I love working on classic muscle. The interiors are never dirty, they're never daily drivers, you can't beat chrome bumpers, and they always look bad ass. I really think it's turning into my niche. I've got quite a following of customers with classic muscle cars. Not complaining, ha. :dblthumb2:

My dad just restored his 1970 cougar and the seats in that car are definitely vinyl. It's not anything special just a regular 70 cougar with a 351(cleveland). If you haven't figured your question out yet for reference.

Alright, she's finished! Since I'm lazy, and already did a write up on my Facebook page...here's the link. Check it out!:xyxthumbs:

Here's a teaser shot so you click the link, ha.

Sorry there's no sun shots. But, the customer was going to pick up the next morning, and the forecast didn't look so good so he opted to pick up tonight instead. I was kind of bummed. But, I got some good shots anyways.

That looks great Kristopher!!! I love those cars. I've got a late 60's early 70's AMC Javelin coming up this spring that the new paint job needs to cleaned up on. I think right now it's been a good 6 months since they shot about 4 coats on it. I eagerly await!!:hungry:

Thanks, man! That sounds like a nice job. I can't help it...I LOVE the classic muscle. I'd take that over a Lambo any day.
