Glass cleaner... bang for buck

Guess I feel like a moron, have been using the diamonite, works great but costly. Will certainly look at megs

(Richy Say's)...Without question: Zep professional. It's diluted at 32:1!! A gallon is about $15 or less. It is a great cleaner to boot. Zep products rock!

Plus, you can avoid excess shipping charges, if located locally !!!

:iagree:

My choices:
1. ZEP Pro 2. Stoner's 3. Spray Away ...x. Meg's

I'm gonna try out CG's glassworkz; looks pretty good and can be diluted too; but you can't eat meg's dilution ratio and price

I have tried the CG Glassworx. It cleans great but I had problems with streaking. Haven't had that with Meg's. I think the CG might need even more dilution. They say you can use it full strength but that would make it more expensive And probably streak more. If anyone learns the correct dilution, please share. Most CG stuff works great.

New to detailing and I use the aresoll can of spray away. Is there a reason I should not be using that for the car?

If you're referring to "Sprayway", it's good stuff. Ammonia-free and IMO as good as anything you can buy OTC. One of my local detail supply vendors buys it in large unlabeled lots and adds his own labels. Personally, I've been using Meguiar's D120 and am very satisfied. However, one of the posters here on AGO had recently mentioned using ONR at QD strength and I gave it a try. It works great! Doesn't have that "clean" scent of the alcohol-based products, but if you're working in bright sun, it's a lot easier to get a streak-free finish. Give it a try!

Is it safe for tint? I haven't looked at this product much.

No recommendations for 3D 50 to 1 glass cleaner? A massive amount of product for the price

+1 for Meguiar's Glass Cleaner (concentrate). I've tried many but this was the best for me by far. Combine it with the right microfiber towel and my windows look like they aren't even there......

Sprayway is my favorite. I found it at a local Ace Hardware for $2.99 for a big spary can. I usually stock up and it works really well. I also like CG's glassworkz.

:welcome: To Autogeek Online!

I've never used Spray Away but if it's designed to be used as a glass cleaner then you'll be fine. Where people get into trouble us when they use products like all purpose cleaners on glass. While these won't harm the glass they'll leaves a lot of residue behind streaks.

Yep Sprayway is totally safe. It's a glass cleaner not an AP type thing. It's foaming aerosol like the Stoners stuff. I've used it before and am probably going back to it after my nearly empty can of Stoners is done. I figure if it's safe enough that the pro-calibrators use it on the coated lenses on the separate red/green/blue crt monitors in the old early-mid 2000's rear projection HDTV units like mine, then it's got to be safe for auto glass and tint.

I have a can of Sprayway. It is good but not as good as Stoners. It's cheaper than Stoners so there is another plus. Megs still wins hands-down (to me) from a value and performance perspective.

I know the question from the OP is what product is the best buy for cleaning glass. Not wanting to hijack the thread but I want to put in a vote for steam. I have been using steam with no chemicals with great results. Otherwise, A vote for Meg's. It works well, smells great and is cost effective.
