Any one tried Jewelling paint with microfiber finishing disc or optimum polishing disc?

If you are looking to actually jewel paint, MF polishing Disc are not gonna do it IME. You need soft foam and an already flawless finish to do so.

You need a polishing and a finishiing pad. Mf is for cutting

How about jewelling using flex 3401 and ht crimson?

You could get a very nice polishing but I think technically it would not qualify as jeweling. I agree with Old Tiger. Rotary and gold foam pads for jeweling.

I don't find the MF Finishing disc to be anything special. It's good for a one step, or something of the sort. But, I like a super soft finishing pad on a rotary to really "jewel"

Finishing pad. Speed start out at 600rpm and increase to 1600-1800rpm. But you MUST make sure the product your using has a slow work time and the paint stays fairly cool. I usually jewel one panel for at least 5-10. It looks amazing and doesn't remove any clear( depending on what product you use)

I have tried jeweling on polishing pad using optimum hyper polish doing low speed on a rotary doing 3 step in 3 different speed and pressure then followed by finishing pad using optimum poly seal doing 3 steps in same 3 different speed and pressure. Make sure you wash pads after each steps and this is the result View attachment 11376 :xyxthumbs:

Unfortunately, current MF pad technology renders too aggressive a design to be able to get the jeweling effect you seek.

I've actually had really nice results with a DA polisher on high speed, a blue finessing pad and CG Blacklight, which has super fine abrasives...so good in fact that my PO85rd just sits on the shelf at this point because the difference in the results are so close that its not worth the added working time that PO85rd demands...plus its the perfect foundation for carnuba wax, or the sealant of your choice, or V7.

Too much potential for "fiber" pads to impart their own cut, don't think you can jewel using any type of fiber pad.

The only way to test would be on a black finish and afterwards chemically strip the paint really well and then inspect under really good, bright light.
