Hello!

(I've bolded the main questions of the post)

New member, long time lurker here.. I've got an older PC7424 with a variety of pads.

I've been working on a paint correction of my 00' Audi A4, Santorin Blue Pearl. I hope to get some pictures uploaded soon.

CC was pretty hard, took a long time to get it where I want it in terms of correction.

Anyway, I've used M105/M205 and then went straight to Poorboy's EX, topped with Natty's blue. Looked awesome!

I'm looking to put some Collinite on this weekend after stripping off the old stuff for extra durability, mostly because I'm unsure of the durability of EX+Natty's Blue. I've also got some RIDS to remove that are going to require some wet sanding and starting over with the 105/205 in isolated spots.

Is Collinite even a good idea at this point? I don't see much about EX and Natty's on the forums anymore..

With a hard Audi clear, is it worth the extra step of SF4500? I was pleased with how it looked after M105/M205, but there is a 'what if' bug stuck in my head. Maybe it will look even better? I've got some old SSR1 and XMT #1 as well. Would these even compare to SF4500? I should mention that I'd be using my 7424 to apply these as well.

If money were no object, I'd try out the 4500 for sure, but well, you know... :work:

Welcome to AGO!!

Durability isn't Natty's strength.

For your Menz questions, pics would help. On harder, non-black paint, it may not do much beyond M205.

845 is hard to beat
4500 applied with a 7424 will probably not improve much. If you want to try something less expensive - Optimum Finish. ( if you ever want to do Opti-coat it will save you a clean up step). I've used Finish on my Audi with my flex 3401 with some nice results

I just ordered some 845. Hopefully it will be here by this weekend.

Unfortunately after washing today and going over the car with QD I spotted a bunch of RIDS I didn't work out long enough.

So it looks like I'll have a good reason to apply 845 this weekend after all..

At this time I think I'm going to skip the SF4500 and just focus on using the M205 to finish.

I'd get rid off rids first and then use 845, which is imo one of the best waxes out there.

I still feel like I need to try the menzerna!

I am doing my first car in a week or so. I have everything ordered except the polish. I am leaning towards the 105/205. I did order the opti cote. Can someone clarify the above quote about optimum finish and where and when I would use it with opticote.

If you use optimum polishes all you need to do in prep for OC is to wipe off with water - they don't have the oil like other polishes which need IPA or similar to prep for OC. Finish would be used as the last polishing step(if needed-205 may be good enough) prior to OC.

M205 doesn't seem to have oils in it soo really I can go straight to
Opticoat or Cquartz? Or Can anybody confirm that either m105/205 have oils in it? The short working time of the 2 is what makes me feel like they don't have oils in the polishes.

Regardless of oils you need to wipe the car with IPA before applying the OC.

Chris@Optimum has stated otherwise when using Optimum polishes before hand. Now if you feel like using IPA or similar in addition, that's a personal choice.
