The most over-rated products?

Im a big advocate of Sonax. In my case Audis are victims of a good amount of brake dust and it does the trick.

As for the sprayer, I transfer it into a Kwazzar sprayer to get a finer mist.

Agreed...but the guys are correct, it is expensive. BUT, 2 keys to using the product that will ensure it's full potential. If you don't follow these two rules, it will not do what it's supposed to do.

1. You have to spray on a DRY, COOL wheel. Don't rinse first.

2. Let the product dwell for a full five minutes

You do this, and it's the closest thing to a spray and rinse wheel cleaner out there...just my .02 of course:xyxthumbs:

And yes...transfer to a finer mist spray bottle and you will use half the product. Spray in a sweeping motion to maximize the product.
 
a quality product shouldn't need for you to change the bottle to ensure you aren't wasting a ton of product, especially with the Sonax price tag.
 
^Couldn't have explained it better myself.

To your point, I've heard complaints from people that it doesnt work, however it tends to be a user-error. i.e. Wash it off immediately or wait until I has begun to dry.

 I agree 100%. It gets to the point that I feel like some companies are putting these sprayers on products so you HAVE to use more product and in turn you have to purchase more product from them sooner. IMO Sonax is the pinnacle of overrated. With products like Wolfs Decon gel out there, there is no reason to be paying $15 for 500ml of product.

I used it on an Audi the last time I used it and your right they collect tons of brake dust. I'll give it another shot. I'll put it in a different bottle as well.

Have to agree with you there on price. I buy the 5L size however, so about $10 in my case.

I dont deny that there are alternatives that are relatively less expensive and work well. But its a product that makes alloy wheel cleaning effortless. Reason why I dont mind dropping the extra coin.

The funny thing is I can't find a bad review about it. I was surprised. I followed the directions so I can't figure out why it's not working. Most reviews that have anything negative to say about it refer to the price. That wasn't even a big deal lol If it worked I would have been fine with it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong lol
 
Glare brand polish. For those that haven't heard of it, you can Google Glare and read up on it.

I use Autoglym Custom Wheel Cleaner. If that doesn't cut it, in comes Wolf's Decon or IronX.
 
I like black light, but believe its over rated, yeah its a good product but as cg says its a brain child of years of development ehh i just dont agree with that lol

and sonax wheel cleaner, sick of hearing about this over priced product

Dug- I used GG green microfibers for initial wipe, then switched to a plush Cobra to do a final wipe. I find once the MF gets too damp it streaks way to much, using the 2 MF method its helped cut down a lot on double checking streaks and spreading it evenly.
 
Re: Sonax, on my personal vehicle I think it works really well and after a coat of chemical guys wheel whatever, and a few sprays of Sonax spray wax, I do not need to use something that poweful. Soap and water. That said, if I were worried about bottom lines, I agree this might not be most cost effective.
 
cobra microfibers, over priced, theyre good nothing incredible, most under rated mf is the one that comes in the mothers claybar kit, great microfiber, I like it better than my cobras

You can buy those same mothers MF towels that are in the clay kit on their web site in pack of 10 for $25.
