Incredibly Cheap Finds

^^^ I agree on the buckets. I got the lids for various reasons and they are worth it in my opinion, if you use them.

@BlueBeast14GT - They are good for interior cleaning, wheels, and other exterior stuff. I admit that I found a few good packs at one time from Sams that were softer than normal. Obviously, you can use them for whatever you feel like doing as it`s your vehicle. There are just way better options out there.

One of the main reasons I see this thread as an asset to the AGO/AG community is it helps me save money on the things that are generally agreed on that are worth saving. In turn, I spend the savings on products that are well worth not "skimping". One of those categories is microfiber towels.

Just as posted earlier that the Walmart towels vary in quality from Sams club towels (and even different batches from samsclub) while costing roughly the same, so do the "autogeek" towels. You simply cannot compare the best from one category to the (presumably) worst of the other.

Even my best Sams towels that I'll do rinseless washes with, especially if following with any kind of correction, are not cut perfectly square, some edges fray after one or two washes, etc.

The cobra jrs and griots blues that I have are in a different league. It would literally be like saying that the national champions of high school football are "the best in the country". That doesn't mean they can compete with the Seahawks.

I've seen where MarkVP wrote posts back in the day advocating SAMs towels and now has relinquished that to use of high quality towels for correction/wax. I'm fairly certain 99% of folks that have a passion for this go through the same train of thought. I know I did.

With all of that being said, the SAMs towels will always be in my "arsenal." I use some for rinseless, some for interior, some for wheels/engine bays.

I see them similar to clay, I don't let it touch paint unless I'm going to some cleaning/polishing/correcting afterwards.

Just my 2 cents... Maybe 4, I know that was long.

The more I save on the little things the more I can buy from AOG :)

Yep. That's how I feel. Some things you can save on. Some you probably shouldn't. But it sure feels nice to get a pbmg box in and I get more of those when I save.

^^^Looks like a Gamma Lid rep. I have 2 from Amazon and love them.

I enjoy a good deal as much as the next guy but I can't wrap my head around people who pay 10 dollars for a 5 gallon bucket when you can go to Home Depot and get a homer one for 2 dollars that still fits a grit guard. I see no benefit at all and they even sell lids there too if u need one

thanks. i know they're replicas but i figure why not.

Sears has a 50' rubber craftsman hose highly rated for $20. Most stores have them.

I checked the website and sure enough, it was $19.99. I should have ordered on-line and picked up at store but decided to just go down since I had to be in the area anyway. When I got there the price was $34.99. I spoke to the salesman and I told him the internet price was $19.99. We went to the pc and he said he would match whatever the price shown.

When we looked it up, sure enough it was regular price - it changed within two hours! I found the same hose down the page for $24.99 but it had to be purchased at K-Mart. The salesman said he would match that K-Mart price. So, I got ten dollars off the regular price instead of fifteen.

The hose is really well built and worth even the regular price for sure. As long as it does not kink too much I will be pleased PLUS, it should last me the rest of my life (Craftsman Lifetime Warranty)!! Thanks for the tip.

Local Walmart had Zymol Spray Glaze for 3.50 and TW Platinum All Wheel and Tire Cleaner for 3.00.

I bought a more exp 5 gallon bucket for the fact it's more clear and had measurements. Could I still use a $2 bucket-sure but I've bought buckets once and they should last forever. Save the $$ back buying some Duragloss products instead of high priced brands

I bet people would buy $25 buckets if they said Menzerna, Black Label, Blackfire etc :-)

If it's the one from lowes, it doesn't fit a grit guard.

From April 2-7 Ace hardware has their 1 gallon pump sprayer for$4 in store only. Pretty sure you have to have a free ace rewards card.

With ace, it's good to double check If they're participating in their "nationwide" sales. They're weird about that stuff.

Picked it up at Lowes. $54 with 2 year warranty and the crevice attachments.

Works great.

Looks like on the box it says 3 year warranty! Even better.
Is the hose small enough to do interiors?

^Love that crevice tool set. I use it often.

Yes it is. I bought this for the house and ended up using it on my own car. I like this much better than my rigid. The hose does feel cheap compared to it but it gets the job done, plus the attachments are awesome for crevices.

I have a metro vac in route for my shop.

I bought a black tornador for $62 OTD, but I had to wait 3 weeks for the shipping. Well it certainly looks and acts like a tornador.

The $8 harbor freight set of crevice tools is pretty slick. Comes with a tiny hose too. 25% off makes it under $7 out the door. I still use my shop vac set that you bought with my rigid too though.

What would you use a sprayer for in the detail world?
