Incredibly Cheap Finds

So yesterday, on my drive home, I stopped at my usual '99 Cents Only' store to pick up some Spray detailer, when I came across these:

Only 99 cents. I remember these used to cost something like $15 each. Decent spray on bra.

...and...

That's a THREE pack of Meguiar's 16x24 Microfiber towels for $1.99!
Needless to say, I picked up TONS of these.

I'm going to have to check our $1 stores here to see what they have.

which dollar store i.e. there's the dollar store, dollar general, dollar tree...thanks

To add to what GTSDriver08 already posted, I saw the following GG items on clearance at AA on my trip back from Milwaukee this weekend:

22oz Bug and Smudge - $8.25
22oz Wheel Cleaner - $2.95
8oz Vinyl and Rubber Dressing - $5.45
8oz Glass Sealant - $2.25
2pk Blue Detail Sponges - $1.65
3pk Microfiber Car Wash Cloths (the green ones) - $4.75
Spray Can of Foaming Glass Cleaner - around $3 (did not buy)
Small Car Wash Soap (16oz?) - around $3 (did not buy)
Gallon of Speed Shine - $8.65 as reported, except...

I did score a gallon of Speed Shine for $0.05 at the second AA I stopped at...both the clerk and I were surprised, but he sold it to me regardless. :dblthumb2:

how do like the dressing, glass sealant and speed shine?

Where did you find these? It's not in the detailing aisle right?

I found the Meguiar's microfiber wash mitt for $1.99 as well. But I was interested in the supreme shines more. Maybe I should have looked more.

This was at the store called "99 Cents Only" - I have not seen these at any other dollar stores, at least not yet.

The Custom Shield cans were in the detail aisle, but the Supreme Shine microfibers were not. They were on a different aisle closer to the chips and stuff, along with a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff.

Hey tenblade!

So far I haven't had the chance to try anything on my truck yet, as it snowed Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (gotta love living in WI), but I did use the Speed Shine on my bike, and I like it - especially for the price. As far as the dressing, I seen the results before and I like that it is a subdued look, as I hate the "vaseline look" of a lot of the tire dressings out there.

I can verify this.. I went back to the same store after reading what Marc wrote here. The Meguiar's wash mitts where the next row over.

For those wondering, I think I figured out why the two Meguiar's products were not in the 'auto stuff' section - They're both $1.99 each.. and it seems the the '99 Cents Only' stores have a couple aisled that are specifically dedicated to items they sell that are over 99 cents.

In the store I went to, there were two rows, over near the front food aisles, somewhat near the center front of the store.

Hope this helps.

The 99c only store closest to me only had the supreme shine single pack towels and they cost $1.49!!! ###!

I saw the single packs for $1.49 as well, but skipped those. I wonder if perhaps someone else already hit that store and cleaned it out of the 3-packs. I know I bought a bunch of the 3-packs from the store I hit.. although not all of them. I figured 6 packs was enough.

My local 99 Cent Only store has dozens of the Meguiars washmitts, but no towels unfortunately.

0.99 meg wash mitt and
1.99 supreme shine....
Just wow and envy :(

Guess I just didn't see them the first time. I've got to say though, they don't feel that great. They seem like a step down from the ones at Sam's Club or Costco.

the megs mf towels start to degrade after a few washings and the yellow costco/kirkland mf towels are a little softer/plusher after they are washed (w/ blackfire mf detergent) & dried. i would rather use a different mf towel like the gold plush cobra jr's on paint instead...

So, why are people so happy to find these for 3 for $1.99? I'm a sucker and bought 5 packs anyway. I figure I'll find something to use them for.

they aren't bad especially for the price. just keep an eye on them as you continue to use and launder them and know when it's time to delegate them to non paint related tasks as they start to degrade and not feel as plush or soft anymore, ymmv...
