You all are going to think I'm NUTS!!!!!

Whats the curb weight of the new camaro? Aren't these new mustangs, camaros, chargers, challengers, etc all 4500lbs+ ?

Congrats on your new purchase - I'd much rather have a camaro myself.

Nuts, No! Confused, Yes!
LOL! I will say, the 2011-12 5.0 looks WAY better than the '13. I didn't realize it until I started comparing the two. Not sure what I was thinking, but I knew enough to give myself the option. :dblthumb2:

and a car that the 2013 gt500 shelby can easily beat.

Ahhhhh, the Pony car war heats up yet again, nice standing on the sidelines and watching it all play out! I remember back in the 80's when the "Boss" returned in 82' w/ 150 hp to go up against the Cross-Fire 305 in the Z, putting out 165. Then the 302 got FI and was "rated" at 225 hp but that was bogus, it actually put out 205 hp, meanwhile the Z or IROC/GTA's got TPI for the 305's and later the 350's ranging anywhere from 215-245 hp but even then, were much, much heavier than the Stangs, especially when you looked at the LX notchback's! Later you'd get Ford stepping up to the 4.6L and SVT joined the picture, 300+ hp was the order of the day, meanwhile you had GM dropping the LT1 into the Camaro/Firebirds, starting with 275-320 hp, back and fourth they went until the Camaro stepped aside in 2002 and it became a one way road! Flash forward to today, where the V6's have more power than the SS/WS6/SVT powered cars of the mid 90s, amazing! As of this typing, the new GT500 w/ 650 holds the crown right now, surely GM isn't going to take this sitting down but the questions begs to be answered.....HOW MUCH FURTHER CAN IT REALLY GO, SERIOUSLY!

So does the dealer have to sell that as a used car now?
I would assume so. I really don't think they thought I would return the car the way I was talking it up. I did this purposely. Even if it wasn't in the contract, I think there's a CA law that states you have 3 days to return a car. When I bought the 370z, I signed a waiver saying that I could't return the car within 3 days, only because I lived to far. I never even mentioned it returning the car. Not sure if this is a dealer by dealer basis, or a law? Maybe it's just for used cars?

HMMMM...Do I think that you are "nuts"?

Instead of a Yes/No...
I prefer to state, in a "nut-shell", that I believe you:

"Possess" an heuristic trait.

Best regards,

Sigmund.

I remember the test in Motor Trend some time back where they compared the Boss 302 Laguna Seca vs. the ZL1 and honestly, having 444 hp compared to 580 hp, the Boss LS was pretty close in all comparisons for sure! Now for something completely different, rumor has it that the SVO is going to be returning the Stang line-up, imagine that, a perf turbo 4 that actually is reliable (sorry SVO owners), gets even better mileage, a "tweaked" V6 by then, gotta think they'll do that and God only knows what will happen to the GT500 by then at the rate they're going!

I read that the 1LE is coming back as an option for the Camaro, same 426 hp and 6 speed only but has some body tweaks, different wheels and re-tuned suspension and brakes, along with a 3.90 geared rearend, atleast Chevy is doing something here.

It's a good thing you got the 3 Days in the contract because in general, CA does not have a 'cooling off period' for auto leases or purchases.

V C Section 11709.2 Notice to Public Contract Cancellation Option

Can't wait to see pictures of the Camaro!

I've never been a fan of the Mustang but when the GT beat the M3 ( for almost half the price) I started paying attention. I love the looks of the Camaro but the handling is not close to the Stang. Plus, considering the hard plastic interior and poor visibility, I'd overlook the nose of the Mustang.

* I have not driven either one.
** always been a Chevy fan
*** mustangs and camaros are like a**holes. everybody has one.

I forgot about that comparo but being such a fan of M3's I thought the comparison was kinda dumb, 2 different cars with 2 completely different markets, the person who buys the Stang would buy the M3 IF they had the extra money but more than likely, the person who buys the M3 wouldn't even consider the Stang, they might like it but would never consider it.

This whole thing about the 13' front end is making me wanna go right to the Ford dealership and actually look at in person, it didn't seem that much different in the pics, maybe I'm missing something here.

The thing that bothers me the most about the Camaro interior is the vast wasteland of nothingness on the passenger side of the dashboard area, there's just a "sea of nothing" there, like they forgot to style that area or something. I do like the 4 gauge package infront of the center console though, nice work there.

I like the addage about "they're like a**holes, everyone has em'", I always used belly buttons back in the day but applied it to Mustangs as everyone had em' down at the street races in Detroit, our group called the early 5.0's "belly buttons", boy do times change!

This is a great thread.....5 stars!

HA, I would have bet you would have at the very least taken ownership before deciding to jump ship!!

Personally Mark I love the new Mustangs and if you can get a deal like that then go for it. My concern is you'll have some trigger time on the Mustang and none on the Camaro, how will you know which one's the right choice? :dunno:

Split the difference, go with a Hemi Challenger! :props:

^^ Used C6 Z06 has gotta be the best bang for the buck out there, even a well maintained C5 for that matter, hell! I'm sure there's a few "tweaks" for the C5 that get it close to 500 hp!
