I don't know if any of you saw this, but, American Muscle got some spy photos of the 2015 Mustang, And I gotta say, I don't like what I see.. I thought this was being planned for years? And now it looks as though they are just getting started! So what do you guys think? I for one might be getting a 2013 Shelby instead of the 2015 if this is any indication of what it will look like. A lot of people are saying it's a test mule. Anyway, any Mustang guys wanna chime in?

Dont want to bash on your post but im glad Ford is putting an IRS in the car. Its time

WHY though? It doesn't need it! "Don't fix what ain't broke!" And who knows what kind of wheel hop problems will happen. And i'm sure the acceleration times won't be as good.

Have you read the latest Car and Driver pitting the GT500 against the ZL1? You will see that the mustang is far more powerfull but cant put its power to good use to turn a decent lap time.

Im a huge mustang fan. I grew up around my dad always having one. The wheel hop argument can be thrown out the window now. I believe Ford has evolved dramatically since it was making the IRS Cobras. If they put as much time and research into making this IRS work as they did making a solid axle car keep up with an M3, itll be golden. I think the main problem is weight. The IRS is heavier, and it looks like theyre stuffing more technology into it. The great the about the Mustang was that it was the lightest of the bunch.

I'm not a big Mustang fan(Camaro all the way) but it seems like they're trying to give the series a modern look like they did to the Taurus. Probably trying to break away from the retro feel of things that everyone seems to be doing. Good for them trying to be innovative.

Only thing I dont like the are thick fender walls.

Can anyone explain why all companies have been putting these atrociously ugly thick fender walls? It never blends well and takes away and aggressiveness.

The worst offender imo is Nissan.

But sersiouly, it looks terrible.

EDIT: I just realized I clicked the link that led to the black car. I am assuming you are referring to the blue drawing? Anyways, I like the styling alot. It reminds me of the GTO for some reason. HOWEVER, for the love of god, stop making these cars so dang thick! I mean, look at those windows. They are a third the size of mine. Leave the roof line the same, but squish all the body panels by about 3-4 inches and you have one hot car!

I think it looks bad ass!!!!!!!

However, my '12 GT that I just picked up will hold me over for awhile....I think! :D

LOL You gotta post a link to what you see, because I think you might of double clicked or something..
Heres the original link: SPY PHOTOS: The 2015 Mustang is in the Works! | AmericanMuscle.com Mustang Blog
It should have four pics of the new mustang and the title says: "SPY PHOTOS: The 2015 Mustang is in the Works!"

Thats what I clicked, but it just shows the undercarriage..

So I clicked two of the links within the body and came across these two images. Are these it?

Yeah but, I think there is a couple ways to improve upon the live axle to make it where it should be, but still have everything live axle guys want..
I had a great answer to this problem awhile back, but i can;t seem to remember what I said? Oh well:doh:

OH okay I didn't see those links at first. Good looks:xyxthumbs:
And yeah that's the test mule car(black one) and the concept drawing(blue one)..

And I agree! These companies think these fender walls and other similar styling cues make the cars more aggressive looking, but I think it makes the look "puffy", confusing and more so, kinda.. "cheap". The mustang didn't start looking like that until the other american muscle cars came around and Ford thought they "had" to do that.. I personally like the 05-09 Mustang, just because they don't have that dramatic "overkill" new age thing going on.. And I agree on the fact too, that they don't blend well.. They actually make people focus on them over the whole car!.. And I think your right though, the japanese car companies are also doing this. Most notably Nissan. lol

As for the "thicker" cars, I agree.. I think these car companies are going off track with these designs. Who knows why, but all i know is, it's gotta be fixed soon! In the mean time, i'll just enjoy driving my classic 'Stang!:dblthumb2:

I don't like the new look, and I agree it's good they are trying to be innovative. But, I think they are drifting away from the original design and ideals that are "Mustang". I think they should've sticked with just improving upon the original design.. Whatever they do.. when this thing is out in public, people should just be able to tell by looking at it, that it's a mustang.:xyxthumbs:

I hope so.. But as long as it looks like a Mustang, I'm fine with it.:xyxthumbs: I agree they should be doing research to make the car the best it can be. I think they spend to much time trying to change it into another car.. Also, I know! Way back in '64 the Mustang was known as the lighter car, that was well balanced. Now it's the complete opposite.:dunno:

Being a Ford fan, the mustang is a track car also, people should be able to customize their car for differerent reasons. I also feel that the new design is horrible, The mustang already has a solid score in consumer reports. If Ford can tune the engine to get better mpg in each, people will want it. I also feel retro is much better than modern. The retro style dash and seating looks nice and is different. I would like modern tech, but with retro feel. The Lincolns are starting to look nice, but are taking on too much modern garbage
