The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

So you don't like ANY of the new Caddy's?

I think the new CT6 looks amazing. CTS V and ATS V look good although personally I'm not a big fan of it being more like a race car than a comfortable luxury car. And with the CTS V costing upwards of $84,000 I don't think that's gonna happen. Ever lol.

They've got the ATS and XTS sedans, and they practically look the same..

I think the SRX looks horrible, and I've never been a fan of the Escalade. I feel like they sold out and gave their loyal customers something they never asked for when they introduced that truck and called it a Cadillac.

They got rid of the Eldorado in 2002 after almost 50 years of it being Cadillacs flagship vehicle.. A handful years later they did away with its sister car the Seville. And after 50 years of what a Cadillac should always be, they got rid of the Deville. They got rid of the XLR, which was a great looking car, another bad move IMO.. Not to mention the Fleetwood Brougham back in 1996. All great vehicles that trully embodied what a Cadillac has always been and should be.

Now they've replaced them all with cars that don't even have a name or any real distinctive appearance to them. When I think of the new ones the same boring silver colored car comes to mind. They all look the same. XTS, ATS, CTS, CT6,SRX, ELR... What the heck kind of names are those? Lol. They can't even think of a name these days? It's sad that the only 1 that has an actual name is a truck.

I try to continue liking Cadillac as that's where my heart has been my whole life, but I feel like they sold us out to keep up with the joneses. Meanwhile they don't have the guts to release their true capabilities such as the Elmiraj and Ciel concept cars. Those are the vehicles they Should be selling. Vehicles with true distinction like back in the days. It's no surprise those cars have actual names as well.

Sorry for the long post but I couldn't help it. I'm done ranting. Lol.

The ATS and XTS DO NOT look anything alike, maybe you got your alphabet soup confused, LOL.

I agree the XLR was a nice ride and the V version was the first Caddy to sticker for $100I and then discounted down to $75k, I can only imagine what they go for now?

Finally the no name game, I couldn't agree more! The new CT6 should be called the FLEETWOOD! You just don't say FLEETWOOD, you say FLEEEETWOOOOD!

Enjoying the conversation here but it's awesome to see Caddy mixing it up with the Germans and perf because they are taking on the world and winning!

Yes I agree. They could've easily called it the new Deville. It disappoints me that they'd rather resort to these 3 letter excuses of a name instead of calling it/them the classic names that were untouchable and highly respected if at least for their history of quality if/when compared to other makes..

It's like they're embarrassed to associate with their own past and would rather push it aside because the new generation of hipsters is so involved with themselves to even think, let alone respect history. History of greatness, at that..

I'd rather have my CTS than a 3/4 series or a C class that's for sure! At least in the looks department that is! Love that Seville. Always wanted a last gen Seville or Eldorado.

And yea they're taking on the world and winning on the race track. They've earned alot of cool points for making a wagon that could beat a Ferrari on a race track. They've won some battles such as those, but they continue to lose the war. Because they still haven't beat Mercedes, BMW, or Lexus in sales. I can't believe even Lexus sells more vehicles.. Smh.

2002 Eldorado would be my dream car. I used to own a 92' Eldorado, I bought it mint condition from the dealer. They had customized the body kit along with a few other touches to make it look almost like the newer model car.. Man I wish I still had that car. Here's a couple surviving pictures of it.

There's generations of repair needed, remember the 4-8-6 engine management of the early 80's, the diesel option, the Cimmeron and Catera? Then the Sevilles of the mid to late 80's, boxy and boring.

Once the 92 STS and SLS came out the car began the slow craw back up, the North star a year later helped out and now flashfoward almost 25 years later, it's taken that long! You see this is how much work it takes when you neglect a once great brand.

That's exactly right.^ IMO they began slipping in the early to mid 70's with the Sedan Deville and Fleetwood's they were making. And while the early 80's Eldorado looked great when new, the build quality even down to the engine [HT4100] was cheap by any luxury cars standards. That engine had no balls. And the whole dash was simulated wood [plastic with sticker on it]

BTW I almost made the mistake of buying a Catera as young foolish guy in my early 20's. It didn't even have leather. Lol.

This exactly! God the 4-8-6 junk was TERRIBLE. GM in general still has a few problems especially in the drive train department. My family purchased a Lexus back in the 90s and have had at least one in the stable ever since. Most of the cars I work on are Lexus and I have never had or heard a complaint about reliability issues or really anything for that matter, nor from my parents. I won't buy one due to the fact that I'm just plain tired of looking at them!

I'd be willing to bet the 4-6-8 holds the record for shortest run ever, before being yanked. 1 year! Lol.

I watched a youtube video not too long ago of a guy who had 1 in good condition and still ran good. Talk about a rare survivor vehicle.

Less than a day later this is how my wagon looks.

As a family there has been at least one Cadillac since 1964. Everything from an Allante to a XLR (Pic included). I am currently look at getting a STS4 and selling/giving the SLS to my son since he says his IS 250 doesn't have enough trunk space.

Not my ride, obviously, but pretty cool nonetheless. Spotted on a local Chicago freeway this week.

Imagine detailing this thing 😝

Drove it in the snow for the first time ever. Far better than my G8 GT was in the snow. My only complaint was pulling away from a stop. The torque just overpowers the drive wheel even when I eased into the gas. The ContiProContact tires are very good all season tires but I think it's winter tire time. Once I got rolling the car tracked very well, was sure footed and seemed to ignore the crown of the snow ruts.

I'm happy with the DP Paint Coating as well.

Quick suggestion before you get the winter tires, number one is manually put it in 2nd gear before you take off. The 2nd is just turn off the TC so you get better momentum, a combo of both is an even better idea.

I have a guy I've been dealing with at Discount Tire who can take good care of you, his name is Brandon and he runs the store in Bolingbrook on Boughton Rd.
