The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Not mine obviously, but certainly explains the fireworks I heard at 4am this morning. This is a couple of hundred metres from my house. Anyone want to play a game of "what did this used to be?"

Would’ve been fine if he had use Liquid Lustre….

I used Liquid Lustre about 20 years ago. Bought it at Autorama for $10 if I remember correctly. Had a lot of solvents in it. Looked good, protection didn’t last long from what I remember.

I used it on a neighbors white Taurus and it did a good job at cleaning the paint.

Did you ever light it on fire?

I was going through an old hard drive tonight, and I found some pictures from 2009, we had a dust storm blow in from the outback overnight, red dust, and it had rained the night before. I woke up to a red dawn, and this is what my car looked like, first 2 as I was leaving for work around 7am, last is when I got to work. We had a red sky for most of the morning, and big lines at all the car washes after lunch.

Back to the dealership, again, guess using the touch-free wash is now done

So is it a build of moisture, from all the washing, or did it just get into the wrong spot this time. Did they show you where the knock sensor is?

You probably know this already, but there was a bit of online talk about the undercarriage spray at the autowash getting up into the engine bay. This is due to there being no covers under the engine bay, to ensure proper cooling of your hot running/performing powerplant.

Can you run through the autowash with the undercarriage spray off?

Probably not but the thing is it didn't pop the code till AFTER I exited the wash. I wish it was covered up, need to crawl under there just to see

Mmmm…. High pressure washing car every other day. Bound to cause problems. Worst case scenario you get it blasting of paints that’s chipped.

You should cut it back to once ever couple weeks with rinsless in between.

This was from this past Wed, through a CEL the 2nd time (1326) and they cleared it again and reset its parameters.

I have a case manager assigned to my situation. I'm hoping for a knock sensor replacement because a car should be able to through a car wash, I mean it's been going though this carwash MANY times over the past year

Is this quite possibly the last touch-free wash for my EN...Stay "tuned".....

I work at a major EV factory and as soon as the car rolls off the general assembly line the car hits the rollers for "break in" then it goes through a tunnel that sprays high pressure water to test for water concerns. Anything flagged is quarantined and isn't supposed to be delivered to the customer until the concern is addressed. Not sure if Hyundai does it this way, but if it left the factory and the concern wasn't addressed then it is a factory defect. God forbid you have to drive through a flooded street. Stand your ground.
