The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

1950 Cadillac Series 62 | Connors Motorcar Company

Hey Ric (and others) what do you think of this? The guy I used to do a podcast just bought this

That looks awesome, I can just imagine how plush and floaty the ride would be, even the seats would be super soft. I would be afraid to drive it anywhere though.

No need to be afraid, just gotta br more aware of what's around you and besides, that's what Hagerty insurance is for

I wouldn’t be afraid to drive it, just not to do anything practical., cruising/car show attending only.

That's all he'll surely do with it for sure

Like the others, I'd take it to Cars and Coffee, shows, and the occasional night out for a special occasion.

Understand the fear of driving it, and not from the perspective of mileage or potential mileage. I had the opportunity to drive a mid-50's Impala on private property many years ago. Two things have stuck in my memory. First, the car was really beautiful artistically. Second, driving it was a white-knuckle experience. The massive body roll, limp steering, and brakes which were more of a suggestion than a control system all got in the way of what could have been a fun experience. I fully appreciate tasteful resto-mods much more after the experience. As much as I love carefully restored vehicles, I couldn't imagine driving one like it deserves.

Is that something hard to get online?

Nope, not really. I just checked ebay and they’ve got 2 1950 Prestige Cadillac Brochures on sale for $50 dollars each.

And there’s about 5 standard 1950 Cadillac brochures on sale for about $20 bucks each.

Both options are original vintage from 1950. I have both versions.

As far as the owners manual, it was included with the car he purchased. It’s shown in 1 of the pictures.

I'll let him know, thanks Ric! Maybe I'll get a ride in it next spring

Man that’s a long time from now. Lol

He got himself a real special car there. A true creampuff survivor.

It's not a fear based on my ability to drive it, I should probably stop reading stories like this, how many times have they done this and never been caught. Earlier reports said the guy is a car enthusiast, but got caught doing this.

Knowingly inflicting pain on someone, probably was a bigger inconvenience than anything

I'm sure our Aussies know about these, obviously and seen them with the bow tie but I wanted to pass it along anyways, I mean it's 11 days before Christmas and you don't usually see these on the road during winter

What is that the Holden? Didn't that come here only in the police version, for only a year or two? Did they call that a Caprice?

We did get the Caprice version which is a longer wheelbase and it was only for police use.

Correct, LWB was the Statesman, Caprice and Ute, of which you got the Caprice as a cop car. Statesman and Caprice were luxury models, and Caprice was the top spec, the Ute was the load carrier, could be had from base V6 all the way up to V8 monster. SWB was Commodore, Berlina, Calais, in a sedan and wagon, V6 and V8s. You got the Commodore SS in sedan form as your Chevrolet SS. I had the Berlina V6 Sportswagon.

My neighbour brought something interesting home again last night, it was too dark to get a good shot last night, but I managed to get this one before he left this morning. A 2021 992.
