Chicagoland Detail Day...pics and stories!

Hi everyone, I'm from Addison IL, and I was wondering if these meets are for pro detailers only, I'm just a hobby/weekend warrior but I would love to meet other local detailers and learn new tips and tricks

I am also in Addison! PM me and we can talk detail.

I'm currently in Woodridge but moving out to Mtn Prospect in about 2 monthes. I too am a weekend warrior and do friends/family cars as well but have business cards printed up now, wanna make some extra cash, love a clean, detailed car, even if its not mine, LOL!

We only had the one meet last year, thanks to Ivan hosting at his shop and it was a good time, went by waaaaay too fast. I'm down for a mini meet, even if its a couple people in the garage/driveway, although I live in an apartment right now so my place is out.

Hey AG, have you tried rinseless wash yet?

I feel you, I haven't made myself busniess cards yet but I enjoy making family and friend cars clean too.

And yes I use blackfire rw and have yet to try my sample of turtlewax rw from the auto show.

My buddy Hectour and I went to Vista print and came up with a nice, straight forward card design and the price was awesome! The commercials you hear/read are true, no hidden fees, great way to go.

I was wondering guys, unless you guys have already done your spring clean up maybe this is something we could do at the meet? If there's someone who hasn't seen the advantages of RW, here's your chance. Wanna see how a certain product works, again, here's your chance. I've had my car new since Sept 10th 2011 and it has never seen a wheel of any kind, so all I need to do is a RW, clay and then a full DuraGloss treatment :

-DG #501 w/601
-DG #105 w/601
-DG #111
-DG Aqua wax

I know 501 doesn't really correct anything but my paint is in really good shape and again, this is a great example to see what an entire line can do for a car's finish when used correctly.

Last year I was lucky enough to use BL on my fiance's Mazda 6 and was blown away, so much so that I have a bottle of that and V7 to go along with it. This is what can happen when you come to one of these meets. Last year I got to try Gary Dean tire dressing too and almost bought some but when I found the DP 32 oz on sale for $15.99 I couldn't pass it up. I also got a sample of Pinnacle black onyx too.....THIS STUFF BLEW ME AWAY! I like the DP for sure, completely adjustable with the shine but the Pinnacle black onyx goes on with a bit more shine, not overly glossy but goes on thick and doesn't sling, either one of them do for that matter. Can't go wrong with either one!

Ahhh, a quick review for my fellow Chicagoland guys.

As I look out my window north of Indy, I can't even see across the street due to the heavy snow! First and foremost we need some spring weather!

So if spring ever gets here, I too would be interested in a Detail Day either in Indy or possibly the Chicago area.
