Hi Mike, Its me agine Soctt aka (Pork Chop). Ok I just got my new PC 7426XP and now Im cleaning out ALL my old waxes and I want to narrow it down to one product. I have Meguiars Clay Kit ( that I told you about befor and I scrached my hood and was afraied to use), I have Turtle Wax liquid clay bar (Ice) works ok, Then I have 3Ms Imperial hand glaze I also used by hand. What is my best product? or should I just throught out evey thing and start all over.I also use turtle wax detailer spray for finel touch up at shows and cruises. PLEASE:wow::confused:

I guess Mike is to busy to E-MAIL can any one answer this for me ?Feed back please:thankyousign:

I have the Meg's kit and have never had any problems with it. Use plenty of lube/ quick detail. Anyway, the glaze is your between step product, ie... Clay, polish, glaze, seal or wax. What exactly are you looking to do?

Hi jjj, I just did what you said the other day and still have scraches. There not to bad if you look at it straight on but at an angle you can see them. But one in pic by the fender looks bad but I cant feel the scratch in the clear coat?. How about a rubbing compond? instead of claying? Then polish. Ill try to get the photos up when I figuer it out. Thanks

You can try a light cutting pad and a compound like ultimate compound on your pc and it should get the scratch out. Claying removes bonded surface contaminants not scratches, so clay first to clean the surface then compound the scratch.

I agree with the above. Ultimate compound is great. If you have an AIO like xmt 360, that may work. Claying only good for contaminates etc. good luck!

Thanks guys Ill try it, Who makes ultimate compound? I did use a orange pad is that good?

Sorry for the late reply, I was busy with SEMA for over a week.

Hi Mike, Its me agine Soctt aka (Pork Chop). Ok I just got my new PC 7426XP and now Im cleaning out ALL my old waxes and I want to narrow it down to one product.

Lets take a look...

I have Meguiars Clay Kit ( that I told you about befor and I scrached my hood and was afraied to use),

Meguiar's Consumer Clay is a Fine Grade and a great product. I like it because it's white and this easily shows you the color, (if any), of the contaminants you're removing better than colored waxes. Especially when you find overspray paint on your car.

I recommend always plan on doing at least ONE machine polishing step after claying to remove any clay haze or marring and to perfect the paint for application of a wax, sealant or coating.

I have Turtle Wax liquid clay bar (Ice) works ok,

Never used it. You really only need one product to use for mechanically removing above surface bonded contaminants. Since you have Meguiar's Clay Kit, use up the Turtle Wax and then let her go...

Then I have 3Ms Imperial hand glaze I also used by hand.

This is a completely non-abrasive product used to make the paint look glossy. Been around a L-O-N-G time...

What is my best product?

In order to choose the BEST product, you first have to determine,

What are the issues you want to correct with your car's paint? (if any)

What's your goal? Show car finish? Or just maintain your transportation investment.

So...

Are there any problems with the paint?
If so, what is your goal?

See page 37 of my how-to book...

:)

Meguires makes uc. Orange is good choice (guessing you want some cut). U can get uc at any auto store.

Hi Mike, Sorry I for got about SEMA,I'v been whighting to try this PC out. I got some light scrathes in the clear coat.I would like to bring up the pics but cant figure how to. I did try the other day to 1ST clay lightly then I used mothers pure polish (orange pad), then I glazed (3M hand with gray pad), then I used collinight #845 with blue pad. Still have the little scraches. I Did it finely I have more but problems with upload. Paints not bad when you look it stright on or out side in the sun. Thanks
