Ultra soft Black Porsche paint ... piece of cake!

Looks amazing!

A question though - If the paint is very soft, why use m105 which is considered highly aggressive and not a milder compound? Isn't too much clear coat being taken off when using it on this type of paint?

:iagree: I can't imagine the paint was all that soft if SIP was used as a finishing step. I've used SIP to finish on some paints on the softer side, but with the ultra soft paints, I've always finished with something finer like 106fa or 85rd.

Wow amazing results!!

Soft clears can be a real struggle, especially when its a non-metallic paint!

very nice work, was all the work done with a DA?

Only the hood was corrected with a rotary because it had some very deep scratches. Everything else was done with a DA.

In this photo I am using a Flex PE-14

Soft paint can be a challenge. It will test your skills for sure. Here is another Porsche turbo we did a few weeks ago. When shined up proper they sure look sweet!!

This picture needs to be an advertisement for you....the car with your van in the background.....the cloud and the sun reflecting off the hood is awesome :xyxthumbs:

bump...Joe can you speak to this question?

Beautiful job. What wax or sealant did you use? Thanks.

As always, they look amazing, great saves!

Are you guys usikg the Makita DA?

105 isn't necessarily the "most aggressive" I have actually used it as a fine polish many times. Think of it as very small very hard particles. More rubbing in, more cut, less rubbing in, less cut.

That's where the SMAT products throw a monkey wrench into the old practice,

"Use the least aggressive product to get the job done"

Because with SMAT you can start out with a very aggressive product but just don't work it hard or for a long time and still finish out like you were using a less aggressive product with no difference in the amount of paint you remove.

See this article for more info on how SMAT works as compared to DAT

Meguiars #20

Good product, been around a long time. Light cleaning ability which makes it great for maintaining daily drivers but also leaves a very clear and very slick finish plus it dries fast and wipes off very easy.

:)

Joe, do you think that a car with soft paint such as this might be a candidate for something like Opti-Coat 2.0? I'd be interested in your insight on that. Thanks.

Great job ! The car looks amazing. If I didn't live 3000 miles away I would definitely bring my Porsche to you guys. Impressive!

I love detailing Porsches!!

Joe, that's an amazing job. Love that shiny and glossy smooth finish.

Thank you

Awesome work! If you don't mind me asking, what's your technique for using m205 with soft paint? Pad, pressure, and speed.

I love these cars!! We recently polished another!! It only has 149 miles on it.

A little bit of Rupes...
