What's your favorite Wax under 50?

Fusion and Souveran have rave reviews, but do you really have to spend $100 to get that depth and shine? There's so many Wax products that are half that or less that I don't see getting much attention but still have excellent customer reviews.

Of course not. Depth and shine come from POLISHING your paint to a high gloss swirl free finish. You dont see cheaper wax products get much attention because of all the hype surrounding more expensive products.

Whats going to get you results? Hype? My money is on good technique, skill and high quality polishes.

Once you reach the $50 dollar price range for high quality carnuba waxes, the human eye cannot tell difference vs a wax that costs 100+.

Theres a peak in which wax products can create that extra bit of gloss & depth, people that are in the business understand that. Most enthusiasts dont seem to understand that.

With that said, my favorite wax/sealant products are: in no particular order

*P21s
*Mother's Brazilian Carnuba Wax
*M26
*M21
*Pinnacle Signature Series ll
*Collinite 845

I will put my work + any of the above LSP's vs "Fuzion" and no one would be able to tell the difference. Kind of like what happened when I tested M21 WGDGPS3.0 and ended up with equal looks. Who would of thought...

I read that review and it was awesome. With all the hype surrounding Fuzion, I just had to ask.

I'm happy with M26. Thrilled actually.. My Platinum Gray Metallic really does pop after XMT 360 and two layers of 26. Long gevity isn't a concern of mine. I apply an additional coat as needed. P21S and Max Wax are on my next order. I see so many post about how their $100+ wax makes their vehicle look like a wet mirror, I feel like my Gray looks the same way with a $20 wax over my flawless finish.

So unless spending so much more will provide me with a finish that looks like it's as deep as the sea, I just can't justify the cost.

I'm waiting for someone to write a review of Fuzion or Souveran vs Max Wax or something else with side by side pictures to back it up.

Thanks for all the opinions everyone, they are very helpful and informative and I appreciate each and every one of them.

Your going to love P21s, better than M26 as far as looks & durability. Ive never tried Max Wax but many trusted friends here have said it is a hidden gem :D

Alright I lied...

Didn't grab Max Wax or P21. I'll order one of them when I get paid on Friday. I did just order Wolfgang Polish Enhancer (15$), Optimum car wash (9.50), Nattys Red (20), Liquid Souveran Sample (7), Pinnacle Crystal Mist free sample.
All that and free shipping for $52. :insert thumbs up icon, here:

Too many waxes that I want to try so I figured that I would start cheap and work my way up. :buffing:

Maxwax and or collinite 915. That's it, if you don't get one of these two then you are without a doubt missing out! Listen to cm8 man and the reason why i said maxwax and colli was cuz maxwax is so user friendly, has good protection and good looks. The collinite has the best protection, water looks like basketballs on my paint, not so fun spreading it out and buffing it off though. Pick one! When your looking at a wax, look for protection because like cm said, good skill and technique with "OTC" products will always beat little skill, technique with top notch products

Another great wax under $50 is Lusso Oro. For a paste wax, it really doesn't get any easier to use than this. It spreads on smoothly and wipes off effortlessly. It also has very good depth to its shine, and if scent is important to you, it smells like coconuts.

It smells like Coconut? And why didnt you tell me this beforehand? That might be on my next purchase, many have stated great results with that wax. Im curious now..

Yeah it smells amazing! You'll find yourself opening up the jar to sniff it even if you aren't using it

Had it in my cart, I just wasn't in the mood to end up with a $100 order. I had to go back and weed out products, but Ill definitely be picking it up ASAP. :buffing:

Judge, lusso sounds awesome. I've been reading about it on their website. I'll have to add it to my slowly growing arsenal. :dblthumb2:

I agree with all of the dodo juice sample pots

as well I am going with signature series II for my next order this week

and next month looking to pick up Maxwax as well as an order of the P21

the natty's red continues to peak my interest as well.

Looks like next month I will be emptying my pockets on a few different waxes..

But with good reason :dblthumb2:

How is the durability of M26 nowadays? Many years back when I used to use it, just one rainstorm and it was gone.

I picked up Lusso Oro recently when it was on sale for 24 bucks. I'm not that impressed by it. It sure smells good but it seems to "lighten" the paint color by a bit and durability is suspect when subjected to really hot days.

For under $50 I like XMT 180 and Natty's. Both give great results and you'll stay within your budget. MaxWax is another good wax. XMT 180 seems to last the longest.

I cant speak too much on Lusso Oro but I have friends that have tried it with good results.

M26 paste wax holds its own when it comes to looks & durability. For $15.99 youd be suprised. Durability in my end lasts about 2-3 months.

If your looking for looks & durability, P21s is very hard to beat.

Max Wax is one of those wax products that doesnt get too much recognition, yet performs just as good as the "higher" end waxes.

DoDo juice also makes some of the best wax products on the market. They seem to cater to all paint types, if you want to splurge a little, I would highly recommend DoDo.

:iagree:Plus most of this list can be found locally. (Big plus sometimes) ;)

The 'trick' is in how much prep is done B4 any wax is applied. What's the saying "you can put makeup on a pig, but it's still a pig". If the surface is very slick and polished the wax will also look very slick and polished with great reflection and depth. Looking at a finished panel it's about reflectivity, and any imperfections in the sub-surface will be shown in the LSP.

My wife walked through the garage over the weekend while I was buffing and said "It looks like it's TWO different colors". I was like, "So ALL you see is that it's two different colors? Not that it's got depth? WTF?"

She went on to say it looks better, and even like new, but that the gray (did) looks like more of a white/gray and now it looks like a silver/pewter gray. (FWIW it's Toyota gray metallic on a 98 4Runner.)

Collinite 915. I'm still somewhat bemused that this wax seems to get so few mentions over here - it just flies under the radar. It's reasonably priced, particularly in comparison to boutique waxes - you get a large 12 oz can for $32 - looks good (IMO better than 845 and 476, especially for darker colors), and offers that famed Collinite water behaviour and durability.

I've read of some people having difficulty with application, but I've never had those issues myself (and I apply to the whole car before buffing off). The only thing I dislike about it is the container - the metal can has a rim, so you can't drop the wax out, and I can see it being an issue when you're close to finishing the wax.
