I just recieved the 5" BP for my new rupes 21. I tried it out and it works great. Its smoother with the 5"BP then with the 6". I just need to get some more 5.5" pads. I just finished polishing my 68 chevelle and i'm so happy with the rupes. IF anyone isn't sure about how great this machine is take my word for it. I had a flex for about 8m and i'm glad i switched to the rupes.

Im the MAN :buffing:

The 3401 is a way overrated, IMO. Mine collects dust. If it wasn't so scratched up, I'd sell it. Rupes 21 is awesome(especially with the 5" BP).

I'm sure if you put it for something like $100, it will be sold regardless :)

OP, glad to hear, as that's what I have on order!

what BP did you use. I thought the one sold by AG says it doesn't fit the 21

Thanks for letting us know. This makes me want to order the 5" BP more.

I'm really really curious how the 21ES with the 5" BP compares with the 15ES...

3401 and rupes Bigfoot are two different machines. I think they both can hold there ground in different circumstances.

Like i said i loved the correction of the flex but it was just too much of a handful for me. I would say the rupes corrects just as much and fast as the flex. PPl say there two different machines but i don't see it that way. I know the flex is forced rotation but you put the washer mod on the rupes and its not going to stop. THey both correct faster then the other da's and they both finish paint very good.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I have both bp's too...my problem is I haven't had time to turn it on yet. I have some Rupes pads too, so I'll be looking forward to comparing bp's.

I've heard so much great things about the 3401. Been looking to get one but it's gonna take awhile since it has a pretty big price tag. What didn't you like?

It's not a bad machine, don't get me wrong. However, MF pads do not work well with it, and that's where the best correction is at, IMO. The forced rotation makes it hard to control. Not to say I can't control it, I just prefer a a traditional DA type polisher. I can get better correction AND finish with my HD polisher and a MF pad compared to anything I've ever tried with the 3401.

Ahhh i see. It comes down to preference I guess. I just wish I could try it out before I pull the trigger on one. Nothing worse than paying high dollar and it not working out for ya. Thanks for the info!

The 3401 definitely has potential, I just don't prefer it. Try one before you buy if you can!

I originally thought the 21 is bigger and bulkier compare to the 15....
So i bought a 15 as my first rupes polisher.... Now that i bought the 21 delux kit from AG... idk why the heck i didnt buy the 21 and just get the 15 BP.

Yep, that's the killer combo! The larger stroke of the 21stroke makes a big difference in correction power, but doesn't FEEL that much bigger!

My flex also has become a dust collector as well, not sure what I'm going to do with it as I like the rupes and Cyclo, they are so much easier to use, and they are so smooth to operate.

I find it funny how people bashed me(not you) for not liking the 3401 a long time ago. Now, more and more people are agreeing! The thing feels like a damn freight train!

im itching to try my 21... but i want to sell that one and keep the 15 lol....
I dont want to use it and then sell it people dont like it used and what not

So Mark... u selling ur rupes, yet u dont like the flex.... what r u gonna use!??!?
