Ok so today here in IL it just so happened to be a rather nice day and I decided to wash my eclipse. I have been waiting for a chance to use my Chemical Guys Premium Extra Thick Wash Mitt. I knew ahead of time that some ppl do not like them be since some have experienced marring. But I decided to give it a shot nonetheless.
Here is where things went downhill. I used the wash mitt with the CG citrus wash n clear. I went in straight lines and rinsed after every panel going from top o bottom. Right after rinsing, my hear sank. My baby was COVERED in micro scratches and marred like hell. All defects were in straight lines, just like I washed!
I was furious. I had corrected my paint around 4 weeks ago after spending 12 hours, and I ruined it in 1 hour. Not only did I waist money on a wash mitt NOT made properly, but I had to spend 5 hours re-polishing my car with m205 and a white pad.:buffing: I'm exhausted and frustrated beyond belief. I might be able to upload a couple photos later of the aftermath of the wash.
In the end though I strongly suggest to everyone who has that prticular wash mitt or was thinking on buying it, DON'T USE IT!!!! :nomore:Trust me it WILL marr your paint, this is coming from someone who owns a black car that shows all imperfections!
On a side note, what is the softest wash mitt out in the market? I'm eager to know![]()
Question ... I just bought 5 sheepskin wash mitts from AG. Not used them yet ... It's the $16.99 mitt. Black car and don't want to find out after the fact like you did. Please...anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks a bunch!

I haven't tried all the wool but it should be the same it comes from a lamb genetically lamb is lamb.
Wool mitts don't pass the cd scratch test.
I am pretty happy with my meguiars microfiber wash mitt. SUPER soft and glides across the paint very smooth. For around 5 bucks, it's a bargain.
I get the microfiber chenille blue wash mitts from Advanced Auto Parts and they are great. 5 bucks each I think. AGs premium wash mitts are all great though, too.
Man, sorry to hear. I think vegas911gts warned me when I bought a 3 pack form CG a while back. I've began to realize that I had the exact same straight line scratches from washing. I just placed an order for the Dodo and the carpro mitts.
Oh he!!, somebody go tell.... ooops change that... NOBODY TELL Junkman!

I don't get it. Explain?
Remember the big CD scratch test debate post when you guys were going back and forth about the softness of MF towels and how if it can scratch a CD it could scratch your paint?
Yes, but what does that have to do with a wash mitt? Wash mitts were never questioned so I'm lost on the connection.
Wash mitts wasn't mentioned in the other thread but the connection is wash media scratching paint.
I think he was talking about any form of media that touches your paint, be it drying towels, brushes, buffing towels, wash mitts, dusters, water blades or anything that is not supposed to be abrasive.Microfiber towels are not wash media so your connection makes no sense.
