XMT 360 vs D151 PRC

D151 + MF pads are magical. You get such good results in a truly 1-step process that leaves protection behind. I love it because it gives me the opportunity to offer so much more to my customers without sacrificing extra time on multiple polishing/waxing steps.

The next time my buddy comes over I will find another panel (the are all equally swirled to hell) and try a 50/50 with XMT 360. :props:

You're using the cutting MF pads, correct? What speed would you recommend on the pc for that combo?

Thanks! Is it me or is there a ton more water on the D151 side?

D151 did seem to be holding on to a little more water. XMT 360 still has tighter beading performance.

 One panel! ...And after IronX?!!

Wow...

Probably the worst car I've ever encountered contamination wise.

So far they look even in almost every category, except for price; 32 oz XMT 29.99, 1 gallon of D151 36.99.

D151 definitely wins in the value department!

Yeah, Meg's MF Cutting Discs & I also have LC UltraFiber pads (DA version). For the PC I use speed 5. It gives you enough power to keep the pad spinning and still be able to use heavy pressure on the pad. I literally CRUSH the pad when I'm using this combo for the first pass, then lighten up to moderate pressure, then last pass is just the weight of the machine.

Just wrapped an Express Detail on a Suburban tonight and shot a quick video of the last panel to demo the correction I am getting from D151. It cleaned up pretty well... :buffing:

HF DA
Meg's 5" MF Cutting Discs
D151
3 Passes (2 heavy, 1 light)
Speed 5

I think after testing these two products out I really have to declare D151 a winner in the correction department. It simply performs well and gives reliable results on almost every paint system I have tried it on. Plus, D151 is very cost effective.

I'm thinking the XMT is probably going to outlast in the beading performance over time. I will keep the updates coming as time goes on!

^^That is seriously good correction for a one step. :xyxthumbs:

Does your Express Detail usually involve topping D151 with a LSP?

Thanks! I top it with D156 for my standard "express detail" package.

That is an awesome 50/50 in that video! Dang I really need to pick up some MF pads. Topping it with a spray wax seems like a good, quick combo that can produce great results.

Thanks! I just picked up a few more packages of the Meg's MF cutting discs on the 10% Off 1 day sale. My only regret is that I didn't jump on the MF bandwagon sooner!

keep the updates coming Nick!

*** 3 Week Update ***

XMT 360 and D151 are still going strong at the 3 week mark. So far the truck has seen 3 washes in 3 weeks. All with Meg's Gold Class shampoo at recommended dilution.

XMT 360 on the left, D151 on the right:

After flooding the hood:

D151 was still noticeably slower in sheeting away the water while using the flood rinse method; however, D151 let go of almost all the water, while the XMT 360 held on to a few more beads.

So far they both seem to be doing a great job protecting the paint! Which will outlast the other? Only time will tell... Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the update. Looks like both of those waxes sheet water very well.

Very interesting! Thanks for taking the time to do this comparison.

Thanks for the update! Please keep them coming :)

Thanks for the interest! What else do you guys want to see? I still have a few more ounces of XMT... maybe a side by side correction video? I just bought a tripod so I can start doing some legit camera work. Let me know! :xyxthumbs:

My friend with the swirled out Pathfinder stopped by again today. I did another test spot on the hood with D151... I'm trying to figure out how to get the best results with the least amount of time/effort. I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

I was going to do another spot with XMT 360 but that will have to wait until next time... :xyxthumbs:

:dblthumb2: :dblthumb2: 4 Thumbs up to you and D151. IMO it's awesome for a one step, just wish protection would last longer, but I either do a final wipe with D156 or Collonite 845/Megs UPW to top and your good to go.

If you want more gloss/shine do a second step with D151 and a finishing pad at a high setting. With D151 and a nice selection of pads you pretty much can knock ALMOST anything out, maybe not 100% all the time, but 75-85% correction depending on the paint system. I said almost anything......................lol
