Here is one of the latest details at Status Auto Detailing!
This was a full paint correction. I believe I used 105 with a 6" orange lc pad on the dewalt rotary. I followed that with 205 and a 5" white pad on the DA. I think I added another polishing step with 205 and a 5" gray pad.
This was one of the most difficult corrections I've ever done. The paint was extremely soft and very slightly faded and heavily swirled. I wish I had before pics.
If I could do it again I think I would try to do all the correction with my porter cable DA.
It was very difficult to remove the buffer trails after compounding.
I wonder how M101 would have done with an orange pad and the porter cable? Perhaps that would have been aggressive enough for defect removal on this soft paint. Any suggestions here? I've thought about switching to 101.
