Hi,
I'm going to polish a Silver C300 with a porter cable 7424. This is my first time using a polisher. I have always done things by hand.

I want to make sure I have the right products and the right process in place. I've read the long ceramiclear thread from Mike.

The car has some fine scratches and swirl marks.

For pads, 5.5" LC CCS in White and Orange depending on how the test area turns out and a grey finishing pad.

Then a red pad for some Wolfgang sealant. I have used this sealant before and it works great.

For polishing, I want to stick with Menzerna for the ceramiclear.
I am thinking of using Menzerna SF4000 to see how that works with a white pad.

If that doesn't cut it, I'm thinking Menzerna PF2500 with a white pad.

If that still doesn't work, then PF2500 with an orange pad.

Regardless, would I then finish up with SF4000 and a grey pad?

Anything else I need? (I know how to wash/clay/prep)

Thanks

I did a silver one a white back I used MF pads and a mix of D300/105 work great.

Firstly, congrats on taking on your first job by machine. Ceramic clears are obviously hard, and as such you have your work cut out for you. I spent 14 hours polishing out a ceramic clear on Audi RS3 this past weekend with a PC7424...http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/64717-ibis-white-audi-rs3-detailed-lawrence.html and I detailed a white Mercedes with a Ceramic clear a few months back http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/show-n-shine/59909-arctic-white-mercedes-c180-kompressor-detailed-lawrence.html and believe that Menz PF2500 is a good polish to use and you will probably land up using an Orange pad.... but ALWAYS do a test spot before and use the least aggressive method to get the job done

Remember that especially when working with ceramic clears you really want to be as gentle as possible. This is a very good read as to why http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/hot-topics-frequently-asked-questions/47152-ceramiclear-paints-careful.html
