Any major difference between Meg's APC and APC+ ?

APC=foaming cleaner
APC+=no foam/ low foam cleaner

APC has strong chemical smell
APC+ has orange smell with slight chemical odor

Green APC forumlated for interiors (optical brightners, fabric softeners). Orange APC+ can be used for everything, but IMO, is better suited for the exterior. In my experience, APC+ leaves a film on hard interior surfaces while APC does not. I read a few years ago that it has some degreaser in the orange APC+ formula. Maybe Mike could chime in to confirm that.

Looking at the data sheets, APC is a generic type of product and should provide the best cleaning power. APC+ seems to swap solvent thus removes the chemical smell but there should be no mistaking that the orange solvent content is low and the alkalinity is probably the primary worker. Of more importance is that APC+ is a cationic product which means that it will be somewhat sustantive to surfaces. Exactly what those quaternary compounds we cannot say but it is probably fair to say that they are intended to persist after rinsing so the above observation about residue on surfaces is plausible. With regards to the degreaser, both products have alkalinity which will be very effective in this regard and the solvents in both products will assist - they will both degrease. As a rule, an APC is going to be similar an aqueous degreaser, often the only difference will be the name the supplier uses.

The best explanation I have seen of these products. Thank you!!!

For interiors I go 20:1 with APC+ and for the most part I spray the product on the towel and not the surface itself. That seems to do the job and avoid any perception of a residue being left on the paint. Granted, for more dirty interiors cars I would probably *not* use APC+ for the reasons above.
