Introducing: Duragloss Squeaky Clean

501 is by far the best cleaner I've ever used. Even paint that you think is really clean...501 will prove you wrong every time.

You haven't really cleaned your paint until you've used 501. If SC is the essentially the same cleaner without leaving anything behind its a must have product.

I hope it works better than 652. I loved 501 so much I thought 652 was going to be 501 without a sealant. Instead 652 was a dusty mess. Didn't clean well either.

It sounds like a good product but 8 oz. Is not enough for me to justify an order. Looking forward to a 32 or 128 oz. Quantity!

Very little goes a long way

so is this pretty much Duragloss's version of the Wolfgang Paint Cleanser or Pinnacle Cleansing Lotion? (from my understanding, these are to remove old wax etc for a fresh coat of LSP)

bump to this question.

Does SC remove old wax/sealant?

which do you prefer, hand or machine?

Hand if surface is perfect (multi step correction) or machine if I want it to bite in and deep clean.

So would you need to wash after this to put a coating on?

In a word: No. Just make sure you've wiped the surface clean. As I mentioned, I'm in the habit of going over the area with an ONR dampened mf as an insurance policy to make sure I didn't miss wiping anything off. I would not wash, absolutely not.

Richy u the best, but I still see this as a useless product. If I'm doing a coating, at the very least I am gonna use some sort of polish to help enhance gloss. I have never seen a perfect vehicle even from the factory. So some sort of polish is required to enhance gloss IMO. If someone is willing to pay for a coating they will pay for the proper steps. If not then eraser will do the job. If I recall u use eraser after SQ anyway. So to me that's just an extra step. Sorry to disagree but giving my honest view.

Jim,
I welcome your honest opinion. Having been using SC for some time now, I can clarify a few things.
1) For a factory finish car, the minimum I would do would be to use SC via DA to amp up the factory finish...and it will! Check out THIS car that was only done with SC before coating with CQF. Even if I did a one step polish on a new paint job, I would still follow it up with SC. Why?
2) It will show you the true condition of the paint. An example of that is a car I'll be posting hopefully later today, a 2008 335i. The last polishing step was 205, and although it looked glorious, I wanted to make sure there were no oils from 205 that were either going to: mask the true finish or interfere with the bonding of the OG. For me, knowing the true finish is critical. I would WAY rather use SC, which will not only remove any fillers, but will actually amp up the glow a bit by itself too vs using IPA or something similar.
3) Yes, I have lots of ERASER on hand and will use it or a dampened mf with ONR to ensure I've removed all the SC from the surface, but that is not something that is totally necessary. That is my paranoia seeping in. If you wipe it properly, it's good to go after SC. Period. Don't take what I do as gospel with the extra step. It's not needed, it's just something I do. Besides, we're not talking a lot of time by any means.
4) One last thing, even though I kinda touched on this, I just want to be explicit. A paint cleaner is different than a polish. You will enhance the appearance by using this step, even after something as nice as 205. Metallics are a great example of this. ERASER will not enhance the surface like SC will. It's not designed that way.

Some interesting points and views Richy. Thanks for responding as that has shed a bit of a different light on SQ for me.

Where does Squeaky Clean fit in with products like Optimum Hyper Polish and Gtechniq P1 Polish? Both of these polishes are coating ready without the use of Eraser or IPA.

I have used Hyper Polish (not a huge fan of it compared to others) for the purpose of it being supposedly "coating ready". If I'm not mistaken, Chris still advised to do an ONR wipedown after HP and before coating. I certainly would not go from that to a coating without either an ERASER wipedown or ONR. Even with using HP, the SC will show you the true condition of the paint, and, it being a cleaner, you may be pleasently surprised at the little bump in appearance you get!
