The Power of Steam

I was checking your particular steamer out and they show a couple pictures of it being used on the paint of the car. Do you use it for that or just for interior purposes? How much has your process of detailing the interior changed since getting the steamer? I am very interested in getting one of these...

I have the same steamer and love it. I have done some paint transfer removal with taking the small brush attachment and a clean MF. Take the MF and put it over the small attachment and hold it in place with the hairband. Then turn the pressure setting to high and blast it. (Only do this if your correcting the paint as to not instill swirls).

And to the OP, Great job man I too use the Firebird and it has saved me a ton of elbow grease and time on interior jobs :xyxthumbs:

If you visit my webpage under "show car" tab you can see me using it on the exterior on the fender wells (thin strip of paint that goes along the wheel) on some harsh stuff Clay didn't pick up.

Great job on the door. I'm waiting to see that center console. Cruuuuuuusty.

I use those plastic dental picks to lift out debris in those cracks and crevices.

I've been wanting a steamer for a while. I hate interiors and I feel like I wouldn't hate them as much with a steamer. Maybe when there's another no exclusions sale I'll pick one up!

I've got a McCulloch from harbor freight. It has run like a boss for months now. Might be a good option for people while they have up for a Mytee firebird or other higher end steamer.

I was checking out the Wagner and McCulloch steamers because they were both reasonably priced. Have you used both? No sense in me forking out 3 times the money for the mytee if the others perform well.

I can't speak from experience but I have done alot of reading on steamers and for 120-180 the McCulloch and Wagner are pretty much identical and have nothing but great reviews.

Awesome job!

Is this the one from harbor that a few of you use?
Steam Cleaner Kit

I literally just bought a mytee tempo spotter and am not in love with it... Lots of wicking.

What cleaner do you use with your steamer?

The mytee is a good steamer, but for big heavy detailers that use steam on every detail you will a steamer thats more heavy duty!!

Only used the McCulloch but don't expect it to last forever.
