White Chevy Colorado 1 step detail, one of the hardest paint(in my opinion)
This truck belongs to a friend who is a truck enthusiast. #It's garage kept most of the time and was kept clean, but it had its fair share of some very minor scratches and water stains on the lower half which were not bad like most cars out there. #Overall it was better than most daily cars, but I wanted it to look like new again so here we go.
Total time: 8 Hrs
*Wash and decontamination:
Did a rinse less wash with ONR #and micro chennile wash mitt and dried with Meguiars Water Magnet towel
Clayed entire car with CarAll fine grade clay and ONR as lube
Wiped door jams with ONR Quick detail strength
*Wheels and tires:
Wheel wells were cleaned with a fender brush and purple power Citrus cleaner and degreaser
Tires were cleaned with tire brush and Purple power degreaser 2:1 to remove the left over silicone dressings
Wheels barrels and face/lugs were cleaned with Mothers wheel cleaner using a generic brake dust brush and Raceglaze Jumbo wheel brush
*Polishing:
Polished with Menzerna PF2500 and a Euroshine Medium Cut Yellow pad on my Makita 9227 #rotary which cut 95% of the damage on this hard Chevy paint and was LSP ready
Some spots were spot buff with a 4" orange CCS constant pressure pads and 3" back plate and M105 then hit with PF2500 and white 4" CCS CP pads
Hand polished chrome trims with Mothers chrome polish and some MF towels
*LSP:
Rubber ext. trims and plastic trims were cleaned with Mothers VLR and dressed with PERL 1:5
Tires were dressed with PERL undiluted(love this stuff) and wheels were coated with PowerLock
Wheel wells dressed with Nanoskin Multi-Dress
Paint was coated with 1 coat of PowerLock using the Flex3401 speed 2.5 with 6.5" HT Crimson pad then a coat of Optimum Car Wax(love this stuff)
Glass were wiped with Stoners glass cleaner with Rain repellant
Chrome was coated with PL(love PL for its versatility)
Some pics before I started working on the truck, sorry no shots of the swirls but they were minor
50/50 shot of the tailgate, sorry for the bad quality, it's from my old Canon camera
