Note this is not a guarantee for a sample, also if you receive a sample feedback is critical in furthering the development and advancement of the product.

Not gonna lie, I'd be pretty stoked if I had a chance to get a wax made by you :D It'd be put to good use here!

lol you guys are supposed to copy and past the list.. Not quote the post and add your name.

And Blackhawk you deleted my name... So maybe edit it the correct way

Update 8*

ProtoWax 26 ...

Pretty clean buff off

:D
Easy on, spread decently far, relatively easy off, became tacky when it was ready to buff off, good looks imo, tight beading imo

Note - surface prepped with multiple IPA wipedowns prior to each wax application

Control Group?

Bouncer's Wax Satsuma Rock

ProtoWax 25

So that was the good!
Now the bad..

ProtoWax 24 was a shot in the dark with a new solvent, I think I missed!

nice to see you at it up and early...

enjoying this thread and your progress. hope your wax comes out better than you hope and gives the others a run for their money, nice to see it beading nicely like a quality wax.

does it haze (if so, how do you control, as far as the ingredients that go into it, the time it takes to haze)

for example I noticed in your pictures of your own wax, it seems very oily and in the satsuma it is hazed (of course it can be the factor of you taking the picture right after applying your wax and the satsuma at a later time)

also, how did you create that badge, looks pretty nice

oh and lastly just saw your #24 that was dried out...you said solvents but is it due to "not enough" solvents? and is it possible to just add some to that already dried/cracked #24 and reboil it so you don't waste the ingredients

first off - good going SON1C 8)

we have talked a bit and i know you feel i am holding back but you are making great progress here. i love seeing brewthreads as they remind me of where Dom and i started. the evocative images of the cans, bottles and bags that lived on the kitchen counters for months and the excessive GU eating for the small glass pots we used to make wax.

the steps you have taken are logical and well thought out - we commend you. one thing i would say is think about which path you want to go - substantially natural or hybrid. since you are using the bee and carnauba waxes it will always end up being a hybrid - but you can choose to go natural or synthetic on the oils/solvents added.

the trade off (most of the time, exceptions exist) >
more natural = thicker layer left behind per layer, tighter beading, less sheeting, less layering and far less durability.
more synthetic = good sheeting, increased durability, thinner layer per layer, better layering and less sheeting.

hence hybrids - but remember, as far as i know there is no way to get all of the above in the same product to the highest level. it is not like boosting all the attributes independently, they effect each other.

as always buddy, keep pushing and experimenting and anytime you ready send me some and i will give you my feedback. IWL awaits its first US brewer 8)

It looks a bit more oily in the pictures than it actually is/was (my wax)
satsuma rock was very oily on application, smoother application on it led to a more hazed look than it actually was -- it was hazed but wouldn't pass the swipe test that was after ~20 minutes, buffed off and it worked very well so I imagine if anything durability was slightly effected? It was sadly stripped within the hour! haha

thank you, it's the oem ford badge off of my mustang, with custom cut vinyl over lay -- intended to install it but scrapped the badging all together

I used one of my going solvent wax ratios, I'm sure I can make the solvent work but it will take further R&D
I have not attempted to melt down scrapped prototypes yet, I may for fun down the road but I use them actively to reference the formulas, also it'd be impossible to recreate the wax properly if I created one that way that I liked!

I appreciate the positive support! haha yes we have!
Are there any links to an in-depth background story on Dodo Juice and it's creation?
As of right now I (currently) intend to have this wax more naturally based, but am not opposed to a more synthetic counterpart and intend to experiment with both sides of the spectrum :D
PJ I'm learning all too well, everything you and Dom have said / posted about waxes (contents, attributes, durability etc) are all too true!

Hopefully I can produce a wax worthy of IWL , would be even more exciting to be the first from US!

Update 8.1*

Center section of the spoiler waxed with ProtoWax 26 , the left and right wings are unwaxed --- the controls

[ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOKQxHrEca4[/video]

watched the full video...didn't notice any difference, what was the point of it or am I missing something?

The difference I see is the beads. The section waxed has much tighter and more uniform beading, while the unwaxed side is kind of random when it comes to the raindrops beading

^^^

Not the best video by any means, and it was more so to just show the current water behavior of ProtoWax 26 , I threw the wing controls in there for fun and to hopefully illustrate to some as not everyone are bead freaks like us -- to ideally help illustrate for them

thanks for viewing guys :D

Thanks :D
I appreciate the kind words and support!
btw I love that paint color -- is it screamin yellow or?

Thanks. Yes, it is screaming yellow. I just uploaded a newer avitar that shows the hood I put on it last year.

This whole thread got me thinking...no ones made a wax yet that smells like chocolate lol

Pretty random i know, but i would buy it in an instance!! Maybe its never been done because of the risk of someone eating it?:hungry:

throw some cocoa butter into the mix... it's used as a moisturizer, why not in a car wax.. ?
