Recommend products for swirl removal on 2008 Nighthawk Black Pearl Honda Civic using DA buffer?

Thanks to EVERYONE for your fantastic and very helpful suggestions. I've read all 4 parts of the 2006 NBP Acura TL blog and MAN was that amazing! I learned a lot from just that one blog, especially how to avoid re-scratching the post-restored finish as a result of incorrect washing and drying technique for the oh-so-sensitive NBP paint.

As soon as the temps and humidity take a break I'm going to try the least aggressive approach, starting with Meg's Ultimate Polish or Pinnacle XMT Ultrafine Swirl Remover on a black polishing pad and let y'all know what resulted. Since the car has only been out in the open for a few months and has never been driven in rain or snow there's a good chance it won't need to be clayed, but I will use the gentlest bar if not.

Thanks again for all your help :xyxthumbs:

Thanks for the clarification. I will be doing a black 8th gen civic soon. I'll be sure to compare the difference between them. In regards to the MF pads, The LC left barely any haze, while the Meg's MF pads left a noticeable amount. But as a trade off, the MEgs cut a LOT faster than the LC pad. However, both should be followed up with a finishing polish anyways, which will easily clear up the haze from the Meg's pad.

Thank you for the info.

I am fighting a DD 2008 black Honda fit. It has some pretty bad defects and I have gone with B&S flat orange , white, blue and red on it. I am using HD UNO for the most part and trying to just change out pads. At one point I had to use some Megs UC and i have been covering that with UP and a red pad. I think I am micro maring some also. This si ambitious for me as its my first full correction job (my kids car). Its not perfect, I can still see scratches and various defects, but I am taking satisfaction in that it looks WAY better than when I started. I just dont know if I can post before and after pics since its not perfect. I am going to try UNO with just the white pad., but I have some pretty bad areas on the L rear door. I think the general person will be impressed. Im just disappointed in how I am doing. I thought it would be better.

OH for final on the hood, i used Megs UG wax and then 3M performance finish over the carnauba. (looks really good!) but as I got tired, I just went with the 3M. Still looks nice.

Want me to send you some?

WOW that stuff is not cheep at all! Mommas not said too much at this point, but If I drop 45 on a botle, she may start giving me a evile eye! LOLOL
Always open to a favor. I dont know what I can do to repay it though. my report on the black fit coming soon. It looks better but I think I put some other damage in it and I still have swirls on the hood and various other places.

Send me your address. I'll send you enough to do at least one car and get a feel for it.

NBP loves Menzerna PO85RD. Just an FYI. :)

*at least my NBP TL did*

Would you mind sharing your pad/polisher combo?

I have had PO85RD in my basket forever and and 2013 NBP Accord I would love to try it on...

I normally use it with a LC Black/Gray pad since 85RD has very little cut. Most of my polishing steps are on my Makita 9227c rotary.
