I would not even try to guess.
The camera cannot capture what the human eye can observe. Every image that comes out of a camera is processed so there is manipulation there.
Not sure about wax adding only protection and no additional shine, not saying yes and not saying no.
The video with Mike and the Red Corvette. They added PL then a carnauba wax enhance the wet look. Or give it the wet look don't remember.
I also know Larry From AMMO talks about topping. He calls it something else however. But same concept. (Maybe layering do not recall)
Different courses for different horses, I guess.
Junkman's video when he says "Bone dry was pretty amazing, first time I saw that concept being used" (don't even know what that concept is called) lol

Having to choose protection or shine is completely unacceptable to me. I want both. So what I do is use my layering technique - Larry
I tried to quote him as best as possible, watch the video and you'll see.

I also did say "not saying yes and not saying no"
Not sure if you were quoting me, if so ^there is some proof. If not then someone else can watch the videos and learn something new. Thank You

I'm curious to know if you put twice as many layers clear coat on a car, would it make the paint look "deeper?" Of course it would have to be a very high quality paint job, but I just wonder. On a smaller scale it would see that this is what a wax does-- adds a super thin layer of clear film that makes paint look deeper.
IDK.
You can find others, in various tests and reviews done on different forums. You might not be able to tell one wax from another visually, but I don't see how you can say it doesn't change the look.
I cannot tell one LSP from another but I notice differences: some products darken the paint, some seem to be more optically clear, some dull metallics, some have more gloss, etc. The paint itself is a factor - dark, metallics, etc.
I fixed the link in my image.

If you spread anything on anything, it can alter the appearance. Optically is about reflected light (what we see) and different coatings can alter what is reflected. This is how protection products work like protectants.
The differences are best observed off angle and not with a camera 2 inches from the surface.
no wax, because he doesn't believe wax offers shine, just protection
Can you describe what's on each side of the 50/50 shot?
Good job StuDLei![]()
