Hi all, great site!

So I washed my truck over the weekend and waxed with Collinite 845. It rained today and the stuff beads up like crazy. I am a believer for sure.

My question is, could I use a product like Meguiars ultimate quick wax after regular washings? I am thinking that I won't have to reapply the 845 for several months.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

You sure can apply a spray wax as maintenance. You are correct about not having to wax again for several months. It is a great wax. And welcome to ag.

IMO you could even top it with some Meg's Ultimate Wax, then just follow up with proper washes and spray wax.

Last time I did this, the world didn't end. If I'm wrong others please chime in.

Oh you'll wax because any beading less than you just saw will be disappointing. It's an addiction with Collinite. Next you'll be buying 915 or 476s just to have them all.

Welcome to AG and even though I've been here for about a year and a half, I just started using #845 myself in the spring and I'm a HUGE fan of it, can't wait to try #476 before winter and #915 in the spring of 2014!

As far as Meg's quick wax goes, go for it, great stuff but you might wanna buy it in bulk under its other name....Meg's D156, another product I was turned onto within the past month, GREAT PRODUCT!

Once again, welcome to AG!

So I'm not the only one with that disease?

Will be tomorrow, but the water spots etched in 12 hours.

Had to go to my class, kids foot ball practice, take him to his uncles, then take the lady to work. Then I noticed they etched.

I top collinite #845 with Liquid Souveran after each weekly (or more frequent) maintenance wash. Looks great and adds a little more shine.

I top collinite also. I am fan of paste Nuba. I like souveran, natty blue and s100. You will find a lot of people who top it and others who use second coat of 845.

curiousity MAY get the best of you there.. but 915 is so rich and shiny and, I find it works best on darker cars [it has a higher caranuba %] .. whereas 845 slightly leaves a darker car with a thin cloudy film

My car. Is a darker silver (Storm Silver Metallic-Honda) and have never seen any cloudy look in my paint. What I do notice is that the #845 leaves the paint somewhere between the looks of a sealant and nuba.

As far as pastes go, well that's the way #476 and #915 come so we can't do too much about that but I wonder, why were those made as pastes and #845 as a liquid (well a liquid when its warm anyways, LOL)

Since I got up a little later this morning, probably the 8 hr exterior detail on my buddy's MS3 catching up to me, this thread has inspired me to go down to the garage, wipe down the car real good and apply a coat of #845!

Klasse - i have a 2003 Ep3 - Honda civic hatchback SI...

i have the satin silver metallic - and I agree the Collinite looks amazing on it.. i reapplied last week.... :dblthumb2:

However when i put it on my girlfriends black Cadillac 2006 CTS - it has an ever slight dulling effect. Its not cloudy per-say.. BUT when i did a test vs Megs #26.. it had an ever slight hazing effect...Dont get me wrong the 845 looked great.. but i wanted to take it to the next level and investiage and thats what i found... i took a pic but it was too damn sunny when i did, so the pic didnt accurately represent the finish :(

Its not too noticible to the untrained eye, but for us geeks its there..

that makes me laugh because i STILL have that feeling everytime i need or want to apply 845.... ish is amazing

Yeah was hoping it did come out (clay removal) it was on there for a short amount of time. I was hoping it was just a water spot that could be washed off.

Especially because I had Collinite 476s topped with PB's

The Clay... (Did remove a significant amount though)

They are only seen under MH lights, so I know it's just the bug.

That is what happens, when you let sprinkler water sit for 12 hours during summer.

However: my responsibilities were done, football practice, baby sitters etc...
