Ive been wanting to work on my dads car for a long time. I knew it was going to be pretty messed up before hand, but i wasnt really prepared for what i saw in the garage later on lol.

Some background on the car. Its a 2002 Trans Am WS6 convertible that my dad got in 2005. What started off as stock 325HP is now at around 430whp. Its pretty much got everything done to it without it being turbo'd or supercharged. The fact that it is black on black on black makes it a pretty rare car. Last time i checked there are only around 1000 trans am with this same color scheme. Not to mention it only has 32K miles on it. The sad part tho is that it has never been cared for. My dad doesnt car about a cars paintwork too much. So i was in for a nice surprise when it came in the garage :D haha

On to the pictures!!!!

Overall it just needed a good foaming to clean up, as it wasnt dirty at all
5002.jpg

I foamed the car up using a MTM foam lance with a mixture of around 2oz of CWG plus 3oz of Maxi Suds ii

Decent foaming shot, mainly because i took so long to take the picture :)

One of my new fav products :D works well around emblem and tight areas

After a a good rinse, it was looking pretty good. Car didnt need any claying what so ever ( i clayed it a couple months ago)[/IMG]

So after putting it in the garage, i took a good light to it and went around the car. This is pretty much a good picture of what the whole car had to offer.

Pretty bad, so i decided to do my test spot on the trunk here. I went with m105 on a orange pad, and that gave me great results for a one step.

exhaust tips were...well yea....not cats= this haha

Used some CG metal polish and a terry cloth towel, and it did pretty well, wasnt looking for perfection

After going over the car with m105, i opted for blacklight as the LSP, which i then went over with V7. All in all took around 11 hours. Here are the end result pictures

Overall, im pleased with the end result. The car still needs a good final polish, but that will be for next time. The m105 finished down better than i thought and it took off a lot of the swirls and RIDS. Only problem was how much dusting was present. It was crazy lol but still the car now looks 100x better than before. So m105 did its job. Definitaly going to look into other compounds to buy later on though haha

I hope you enjoyed my first write up, it kinda sucks in terms of pictures, but i did the best i could! Till next time!!! :D

WOW! You did a great job there!!

All the pics show how good of a job you actually did but that exhaust tip really looks great, give yourself some more credit there! BL is a great LSP, a lot people use it for that, amongst other things.

That car is a sleeper, would never think 430 whp looking at it, looks stock, gotta come by and check it out sometime....and hear it atleast.

Thanks! But i didnt turn out 100% like id like it too, nonetheless its a night and day difference, so i guesse thats good lol

And yea you should definitely check it out one day :D its got a straight pipe Borla exhaust on it that is just nasty!!!

LoL i kinda hoped posting at this time would get me more responses :D guesse not haha

Looks great! That BL really finishes it nicely. I'll also be going with the BL/V7 on a black C5 I've got planned this weekend.

Very nice, better than my first effort! but I was working in the rain under a saggy tarp LOLOL

Sweet car and I think it came out great. M105 is still very nice and there are tons of tricks to cut down the dusting. M101 dusts a lot less, has as much or more cut and finishes down as well. Still I find myself going back to M105 over and over.

I still think m105 is nice, but im going to try out fg400 sometime over the summer. I just want a compound that will cut through the deeper scratches without any dusting. I know its possible with m105, but i find it a hit and miss when i try to do so.

Great final results, bet your Dad was happy.
The CG combo can't be beat, exhaust tips came out like new!

I haven't tried M105 but I do own and have used M101 and can say the dusting is very minimal. I used it this past weekend and used 3 pea sized drops per section pass and was very happy with the results. After using it I'm not sure how much I'm be using my GG mp#2. I did brush out my pad after every section pass to keep the pad clean, so that surely helped keep things right when using the M101.

Hey Blackhawk, too bad you can't take the WS6 on your vacation, bet it would come in handy!

Great job. One of my favorite cars of all time. It's so sad that there won't be a new model out of this. One of my neighbors has one but in purple metallic I believe. Original. It's in need of a good paint correction and detailing and yet he doesn't care about all that. It drives me crazy seeing his car like that. Oh well, us detailers think and see differently then they do. ;)

Man, that's a beautiful driveway! How is that for rolling around on, on a detailing chair, bumpy? Or rolling a floor jack on?

Yea keeping a clean pad is super important even more so with M105 especially if you use it straight out of the bottle without mixing a lubercant into it. Compounding in cooler temps als helps. Definately stay out of the sun.

M101 is pretty awesome.

Greats results a one step and the exhaust cleaned up nicely. Did you use anything on the convertible top?

Great Job!
Your pics were fine, maybe a little bigger next time. But that's my preferences.

Yes 105 is dusty, you have to use very little. I wash cars after I 105 them.
105 is the best compound out there. We done test with almost all of the compounds out there and 105 blows them away.
You just have to learn how to use it, don't not use it. It's awesome.

Would you elaborate a bit on the lube in the 105?
