Ive been wanting to work on my dads car for a long time. I knew it was going to be pretty messed up before hand, but i wasnt really prepared for what i saw in the garage later on lol.
Some background on the car. Its a 2002 Trans Am WS6 convertible that my dad got in 2005. What started off as stock 325HP is now at around 430whp. Its pretty much got everything done to it without it being turbo'd or supercharged. The fact that it is black on black on black makes it a pretty rare car. Last time i checked there are only around 1000 trans am with this same color scheme. Not to mention it only has 32K miles on it. The sad part tho is that it has never been cared for. My dad doesnt car about a cars paintwork too much. So i was in for a nice surprise when it came in the garage
haha
On to the pictures!!!!
Dusty dusty dusty....
Overall it just needed a good foaming to clean up, as it wasnt dirty at all
I foamed the car up using a MTM foam lance with a mixture of around 2oz of CWG plus 3oz of Maxi Suds ii
Decent foaming shot, mainly because i took so long to take the picture
One of my new fav products
works well around emblem and tight areas
After a a good rinse, it was looking pretty good. Car didnt need any claying what so ever ( i clayed it a couple months ago)[/IMG]
So after putting it in the garage, i took a good light to it and went around the car. This is pretty much a good picture of what the whole car had to offer.
Pretty bad, so i decided to do my test spot on the trunk here. I went with m105 on a orange pad, and that gave me great results for a one step.
Taillights were given a good polishing as well
another 50/50
same panel all done
some more
pop up headlights needed some love
exhaust tips were...well yea....not cats= this haha
Used some CG metal polish and a terry cloth towel, and it did pretty well, wasnt looking for perfection
After going over the car with m105, i opted for blacklight as the LSP, which i then went over with V7. All in all took around 11 hours. Here are the end result pictures
Overall, im pleased with the end result. The car still needs a good final polish, but that will be for next time. The m105 finished down better than i thought and it took off a lot of the swirls and RIDS. Only problem was how much dusting was present. It was crazy lol but still the car now looks 100x better than before. So m105 did its job. Definitaly going to look into other compounds to buy later on though haha
I hope you enjoyed my first write up, it kinda sucks in terms of pictures, but i did the best i could! Till next time!!!
