Griots garage reliability

I have had no issues with my third generation 3" GG polisher. Using the red pad, it applies waxes and sealants better than anything I've ever used. Nice thin and even layers. Well worth the money.

Didn't know that they had a 3rd generation 3" Griot. Is it more powerful than the 1st generation? Because the 1st generation sucked.

gona click the checkout button on amazon site soon..... any more GG6 user to contribute their experience? For eg, how long you have bought it and how long it has been of service for you before broken down?

Asking again because i am still pondering if i should get PC7424XP due to the reliability.... since i am not based in US, warranty serve no purpose for me... unless i shipped back but the cost of shipping back allow me to get a brand new GG6.... thanks guys

I have only been using my gg6 steadily for a couple months but I have used the pcxp quite a bit and the gg is a far better DA. I would buy 2 GGs before I bought a GG and a PC

Based on what u have owned, does the GG get hotter than PC on speed 5/6?

You come on AG site and buying the machine from Amazon. Why even mentioned where you are buying it from!!!

Yes much hotter, but I have yet to see if the GG is built to withstand the heat it produces. Too early to tell.

Are you guys using a good extension cord. Not using the right gauge cord can make the PC or any DA run hotter than it should. I use a 12 gauge for all my tools.

Yes, more powerful and smoother. I use it to wet sand small areas as well. It's paid for itself many times over. For $90 it is what it is.

How can you tell if you have the 2nd or 3rd generation?

AFAIK there are only 2 versions of the 3", the original and the sleeker one they sell now. Mike Phillips did a comparison thread when the 2nd gen came out.

If the OP haven't bought yet, AG is now offering free shipping and 15% disconut (no exceptions!!!)

Given a choice, i will buy from AG.... prebundled with LC pad as well. Unfortunately a*az*n offer free shipping to my country for my case...

That's what I thought, but someone said there were 3 versions.

I just read something in a book that bugs me. The author mentions that brush motors (like the one in my Meguiar's) don't last very long.

I did receive 2 spare brushes for the motor but I have no idea how often they should be changed and what the signs are when it is time to change them.
