    Question on detailing finishing product

I vacillated on ceramic coating for my weekend cruise night car after having a bit of a struggle remove the spray ceramic from last season for spring detail. This time I did final polish with CarPro Essence and then topped with Essence Plus. Too early for a durability report, but the...

    Coating Removal

Essence Plus went on just like and ‘old school’ liquid paint sealant. I applied to the entire car, took a break, and wiped off an hour later. Literally wiped off easily and left incredible slickness behind. No idea about durability yet. Time will tell. Plan on maintaining with Reload 2.0.

    Coating Removal

Here she is. CarPro ‘Fixer’ on a Soft White Rupes pad. CarPro Essence on a Soft White Rupes pad. CarPro Essence Plus as my LSP. This will allow for quick and easy spot ‘fixes’ with Essence and Essence Plus - without the need to remove a more durable coating just to address areas of light...

    Coating Removal

SOLVED! I wont bore everyone with the litany of firmer pads and more aggressive polishes that I went through to figure this out - I’ll just cut to the chase. Yellow pad with Yellow Top Rupes Fine was working - but it was SLOW going. During a break, I grabbed a super soft foam wax applicator...

    Maintaining black between cruise nights

Ive got a PPG Jet Black Base / Clear 1973 Trans Am. I have the exact same issues. (See my recent post about my experience with a light spray ceramic coating to try to reduce micro marring on this fragile paint.) What I found works best to remove even heavy dust with no marring is to use a...

    Coating Removal

Had a bit of a melt-down today. I ‘think’ I’m on the right path. Guidance / advice / encouragement appreciated. Garage Queen. PPG Base / Clear Jet Black. I corrected the bejeezus out of this paint last season and applied 2 coats of Wolfgang Spray Ceramic Sealant. This is the liquid in the...

    Autogeek Really Dropping the Ball

Order arrived today. Looks like the new fulfillment center is in TX - more centrally located. Only complaint would be that it took 13 days. But everything is here safe and sound. Customer service was very nice and explained the issue of getting the new fulfillment center up and running...

    Autogeek Really Dropping the Ball

Placed an order on March 22. Everything showed as in stock and ready to ship. Payed with the bank account linked to my PayPal acct, money transferred immediately. Received a confirmation email - but no shipping email. Logged into my account and the order does not appear as a current or pending...

    Swirl remover

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover is a great product. Provides greater correction with a firmer pad - deeper gloss with a softer pad. I also have had great results with CarPro Essence and, of course, the Baby Blue 3M Ultrafina.

    Too Many Coatings Choices

I’ve got 3 friends who brought their cars to the local shop for full correction and Feynlab Self-Healing Ceramic and all I can say is ‘wow’. Unbelievable wetness, depth and gloss. One friend was all too happy to ‘stress test’ the finished product by taking a dry terry-cloth dish towel and...

    Recommendation on DA Polishers

Cannot say enough good things about the Flex 3401. Corrects like a rotary with the ease of a DA. With the option to switch backing plates and the endless variety of pads and products, it can do anything. I even use it with the softest pad I own on speed 1 to apply waxes and sealants.

Best microfiber towel for removing and buffing Gyeon Cancoat?

It may be water based, but after coating the wife’s SUV earlier this spring, the towels I used for final buff and wipe never felt the same against the paint. (After a normal wash with MF cleaner) They didn’t ‘harden’ dramatically, but they lost that soft, slippery feel against the paint that...

Best microfiber towel for removing and buffing Gyeon Cancoat?

I have found Wheel Cleaner does a better job of emulsifying ceramic and SiO based products than dedicated MF cleaner - which does a fantastic job on traditional waxes, sealants, and detailers. And yes, soaking the wipe-off towels in hot water and a shot of WG Uber Wheel cleaner immediately...

Best microfiber towel for removing and buffing Gyeon Cancoat?

FWIW - I just went through this. I decided I would ‘try’ to save my Ceramic Buff Towels. So I filled a bucket about 6” deep with the hottest water I could get from my tap and 2 oz of Wolfgang Wheel Cleaner. As soon as I finished the final buff of the ceramic coating, I dropped each towel...
