How not to apply Collinite 915

I've read so many horror stories about over-application that I was afraid I went to the other extreme and was applying too little. It came off wayyyyy too easy. You don't read those kinds of posts much! But I'd rather apply too little than too much from what I've read. At least you can laugh...

How not to apply Collinite 915

Thanks, Klasse Act. I guess if I did it a section at a time, hand application would be preferred with all the tight spots. Besides, I don't really care for the butter knife approach with cans of wax and 5" applicator pads.

How not to apply Collinite 915

So I ran across this thread and have a question about 915. I just got a "new" Ford F-150, model year 2015. So it's been on the lot for a bit and needed a good wax. So I went to 915. With what I'm reading about difficulty in removal, I wonder if I'm actually putting enough on! I use it very thin...

    collinite

Mike Phillips presented a concept of removing the entire block of wax from the container and holding it with a microfiber glove. I'd like to avoid that if possible because I can see me dropping it! So I'm left with the idea of putty knife too. I was just curious if anyone had other ideas.

    collinite

OK Zubair, I'll order some 915 then. Any advice on how and how much to put on a DA pad? I'm accustomed to liquid waxes/sealants.

    collinite

I just tried Collinite for the first time by getting 845. I am beyond amazed! I applied it for my winter prep based on it's reputation. Based on the performance so far, I believe it will last all winter. That being said, I'm so impressed with Collinite that I bought 476s and plan to put it on...

Newbie that needs help with the most basic step....washing!

Regarding your point #6, I use a leaf blower as well and I've gotten some odd looks from people. In my opinion, there's nothing better than air drying a car because it minimizes contact. So, considering most people probably wash their car with dish washing detergent, formula 409, and a magic...

how much time do you spend on washing, wax car?

I'll only do a simple wash/wax 2-3 times a year(ish). That only takes me about 2 - 2 1/2 hours* including the setup time for the wax to glaze over. Twice a year (spring and fall) I'll do more extensive work with clay and polish. That takes a good 4 hours*. *These times may vary depending on...

Wolfgang paint sealant why have you forsaken me?

I've been experimenting with this WG product. I'm primarily a Megs man, but I haven't had any problem with WG. It appears to last a little longer that Meguiars, but that could be my imagination. Take this for what it's worth, but IMO wax/sealant to me is a sacrificial barrier. It's intended to...

    Proper Wash Technique

There's a "how to" video floating around of a girl washing her car with a "magic eraser" and windex. I'd avoid that method if I were you. ...just sayin'

Gravity feed for my water tank??

Remember water seeks its own level. Water will flow only if the end of the hose is lower than the top level of water in the tank. The bigger the difference in height (top of water level in tank relative to the end of the hose) the more water pressure you will have. So if your car top is higher...
