How to touch up around quarter size paint chip

The gray looks like primer. I'd just purchase touch-up paint from a dealer. Clean it with alcohol and start touching it up with paint. Let it dry in between coats. Your just trying to camouflage it. Keep in mind that sometimes less is more. Hope it works out for you.

Will wolfgang swirl remover be enough?

I touch-up Volvos for a living. Their factory touch-up paint matches really well. It's a two-part base coat clear. I'd do a light compound/polish and use the paint on the rest.

    Hawaii

'95 visited Kauai. '05 we went to Maui. We thought it would be too commercialized. It's not at all. Maui has everything. Continuing down the "road to Hana" is so worth it but recommend a 4x4 vehicle. Have to go to Pearl Harbor if you ever go to Hawaii.

    Mazda Clear Coats Too Thin???

I've been a vendor for a Mazda dealership for about 8 years. I do all of the scratch and rock chip repair. Mazda paint is very durable and easy to correct. Paint is thin. Tape off the edges. I don't have experience with the Menzerna products as I use Meguiars. M101 or M105 and M205 responds very...

    First day with 3401 impressions

I remember the other thread you started. I recommended the 3401 too. I'm with you on the ergonomics. I don't like how you have to hold it. It's awkward and different. I'm getting blisters on my hand at around the base of my thumb. Germans must have big hands lol. If you think the 3401 is light...

    Touch-up paint companies

It kind of depends on the make/model and color. Most of the time it's worth buying a bottle from the dealership. I prefer the bottles with the brush. Paint pens are hard to finesse unless your doing a big spot or door jamb edge. What's the color?

Use Menzerna to remove swirl marks on new car

I'm not sure about the Menzerna products but I'm a vender for a Mazda dealership and the Meguiars 105 or 101 and 205 combo works great. The Mazda paint is a little on the hard side but it's very workable. Paint is THIN so be careful. If you drive it a lot I'd recommend getting a clear bra to...

Gouge and small scratches on bumper

Get it repainted. There's not anything on the market to fix it properly that I know of. It's also a difficult color to try and touch-up.

    Late model Volvo paint

Thanks for the info. I'll try what I have and see what results I can get.

    Late model Volvo paint

Whatever it takes really. Local detailers put heavy swirl marks in about 10 cars/SUVs. Obviously they used rotary and wool pads but left scratches and swirls. All these cars have the factory paint on them. I'm wondering if anyone here has hands-on-experience dealing with factory Volvo paint...

    Inspection Light?

I just picked up an 800 lumens rechargeable LED light at O'reily's. It's like a small shop work light. It's a great size and comes with a small stand. $60, Amazon sells them for over $100.
