Experienced detailer in Los Angeles county wanted

Primary (very important) task would be to fix scratches and paint transfer on rear bumper of Volvo S70 after it has been lightly "tapped". So you are looking at approximately wash, clay, potentially some wet sanding, and polishing of affected area. Goal is to minimize, if not completely...

    Indigo Towels

Forgive me what might seem silly question but I have been MIA for a while, so ... I had bunch of old Indigo towels that were perfect fit for certain tasks I do. I wanted to get more but I don't see any. What happened?

What Camera do you use (and do you like it)!

Trying to select single camera that can cover quite a gammut of tasks with differing requirements on camera, from landscape to documenting swirls, all without getting carried away and ending up with tons of lens is just as possible as finding a single wrench that can do it all and make everybody...

Why is the Flex 3401 considered so powerful?

I have evaluated Festool almost 3 years ago: Google: ZoranC + Festool It did have some big cons for me but loudness and getting hot were _not_ among them. My copy was reasonably "quiet" and not once I found it hot even though I used it for prolonged periods of time.

Anyone on the fence? Go Griots

We had an opinion of someone who has been using both for a while now.

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Disagreement was not on subject which one is "better", it was on subject of which one is stronger/weaker (has more/less correctiion ability). Same can be said by those having different opinion, that more than several / quite a few have observed that no "PC" polisher has corrective power of...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

I have owned and used both too. Ever since they came out. My experience differs. So by same token I could say same thing that you are saying, that I am basing my opinion on my facts and that claims of Flex being weaker are false. So where that leads? Nowhere if words taken at face value is all...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Torque under load is where proverbial tire hits the road. It is easy to get lost in "bench racing" discussions but I don't see why when approximate answer is right in front of us. All it would take is to put brand new 6.5" Surbuff pad on one, put a tool on top of bare metal, press until pressure...

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Could you please elaborate what are you basing "in hand" part on?

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

This decision is easy: Get a GG. Later as you expand add Flex to it and have both. GG is more versatile, Flex is more specialized.

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Can you please share with us what exactly you did not like about that combo / why it did not work very well for you? P.S. Surbuf pads on Flex? Have you tried that on curved panels?

The GG polisher is as good as the 3401?

Many people have posted very positive experiences doing heavy correction work with Flex, including 1500 grit wet sanding marks. (BTW, when comparing abilities and making conclusions let's do that apples to apples, not machine X with orange pad to machine Y with wool pad). Many people use 105...

Tips for using the Flex 3401

Generally speaking you are correct. But just generally. Because generalized statements often result in questions that point out specifics should not be ignored when making them, like: 1. Which speeds you made those conclusions at? In other words, is Flex harder to control when compared to...
