Yeah something definitely happened. Not only did Eddie mention quitting his job, he said he also emptied his 401k.

Also, apparently Armour Detail Supply will no longer be available at THOR after they empty out the current inventory. Future ADS fire sale perhaps?

Eddie was just going over how THOR came to be and how he met some guy and the two of them financed it. He is basically trying to say that they are a legit detailing company and not just a bunch of Utoob detailers hyping each other’s products with a perpetual circle jerk.

He also mentioned that he was hurt when he got fired from ADS. He didn’t explain why ADS severed ties with THOR but once their current inventory runs out, THOR will no longer carry ADS. That’s a pretty smart move on ADS’ part. They seem to have built their brand by letting their products speak for themselves and don’t want to have their reputation tarnished by being associated with the latest Utoob trend.

Except wasn't EC Details one of the channels that BUILT the reputation of ADS? I mean Eddie is the guy who named their rinseless wash, primary Beta tester, etc. Maybe I'm not remembering that right, but it does seem that maybe they want to distance themselves from the drama at this point, although I don't know what the timing of that was. I didn't get far enough in the video to see anything about ADS.

They want out of it likely due to all the warehouse and packaging issues. Orders taking too long to go out, carelessly packaged, wrong or missing products, etc. THOR and DIY use the same warehouse.

Hence all these videos complaining about order volume being too high and how they promise to get better. This is starting to become more and more of an issue nobody is overlooking for a company that just turned 3.

ADS owner is in this thread as an example and seems to be willing to share his frustrations publicly. There's plenty of other posts telling people to wait and order from Detailed Image or CSW if they must have DIY products

The other issue that rubs me the wrong way is the SEO "not denied" piggyback rumor. Apparently THOR chose the name they did to piggyback off of The Rag Company's years of efforts to build up "rag" as a part of their brand. That's a real move if true (seems pretty true too).

It's for these reasons that I think people are reevaluating their partnerships.

Yeah, but ADS has their own store and their own fulfillment, if you order an ADS product from THOR, I don't see how any fulfillment issues get blamed on ADS.

Last brand seen for the consumer is ADS though so they immediately blame ADS. It's just ill-informed consumers but I see it all the time in my line of work. Sometimes it's easier to fix it for your partner than to trust their poor operations and I'm guessing ADS got tired of fixing THOR's shipping problems or sharing the blame.

I can't speak on Eddie and ADS in the early days because I actively avoid his content. He always seems out of breath in the few vids I have seen. He didn't go into why ADS wants to distance themselves but I can only speculate that the current drama (shipping inefficiency, Utoob grifters, etc.) is the main reason.

There’s 2 things I hate in this world. Liars & thieves. And if you go around ripping other peoples names off, and I completely agree, piggybacking off of their years of efforts to build up that name and just blatantly steal it, that’s a B#%^* move as far as I’m concerned, and I cannot respect or support them at all.

And I personally didn’t even really like the Rag Company [for seemingly forgetting about the Junkman] but this cheap stunt by the boys at thor changed everything, and I have a newfound respect for rag company because that’s how much I hate a thief.

When I was looking for the products of my order, my wife was helping me, and any time she would mention HoR, DIY Detail or any of them I would tell her not to make a cart there.
Out of my huge order, all of it was RagCo, 1 item (ShineMate mini polisher) from Carzilla and 3 products from Detailed Image.
I let my money do my talking and like you, I won’t support anyone I believe that does malicious business, and I believe THOR companies are that.
 
I just witnessed probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in a long time… It’s harmless, but boy is it ridiculous and just goes to show the magnitude of fanboyism that can be seen sometimes.

Ok so that girl Chelsea made a video reviewing Quiver car shampoo, and of course it’s the greatest soap the world has ever seen because it took until 2025 for good soap to finally come out, right? Lol.

But that’s to be expected.. Now take a look at the comments and how suddenly everyone is either an expert on surfing, or a cult of fanboys like I’ve never seen before. Or maybe they’re under some kind of mind control or maybe they’re bots? How else could you explain this many comments saying the exact same thing? It’s weird. Lol.

Oh btw, that dude Josh is now advocating foaming a car 3x during a wash on his latest video. Yes, 3x.

Once to start, then rinse, then foam again, contact wash with mitts, then foam Again, and finally rinse, then dry using his drying aid.

So salesman Yvan has fooled the masses into believing that foaming twice is somekind of Law these days, and now it seems like Josh is whipping out similar mind control recommending foaming a car 3x for optimal results. Pretty slick way of selling more product wouldn’t you say?lol.

And don’t get me wrong, of all those dudes I actually like Josh and agree with alot of what he’s done and the videos he’s made I like, but cmon, foaming 3x? You can’t be serious…

Spend 5mins in a THOR social media group and you'll see the cult in full bloom. It's a get rich quick scheme if you play it right and get out quickly enough.
