what's the last car care/detailing video you've just watched?

I just witnessed probably the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen in a long time… It’s harmless, but boy is it ridiculous and just goes to show the magnitude of fanboyism that can be seen sometimes.

Ok so that girl Chelsea made a video reviewing Quiver car shampoo, and of course it’s the greatest soap the world has ever seen because it took until 2025 for good soap to finally come out, right? Lol.

But that’s to be expected.. Now take a look at the comments and how suddenly everyone is either an expert on surfing, or a cult of fanboys like I’ve never seen before. Or maybe they’re under some kind of mind control or maybe they’re bots? How else could you explain this many comments saying the exact same thing? It’s weird. Lol.

There’s literally 10 more screenshots of the same dumb comments explaining Quiver… But I’ll spare you from losing anymore brain cells.
Sheepstar talks about this in his Wolfstar video. He mentioned how Utoobers suddenly get an unexplainable boost in subscriber accounts that can only be attributed to bots.

Oh btw, that dude Josh is now advocating foaming a car 3x during a wash on his latest video. Yes, 3x.

Once to start, then rinse, then foam again, contact wash with mitts, then foam Again, and finally rinse, then dry using his drying aid.

So salesman Yvan has fooled the masses into believing that foaming twice is somekind of Law these days, and now it seems like Josh is whipping out similar mind control recommending foaming a car 3x for optimal results. Pretty slick way of selling more product wouldn’t you say?lol.

And don’t get me wrong, of all those dudes I actually like Josh and agree with alot of what he’s done and the videos he’s made I like, but cmon, foaming 3x? You can’t be serious…
Regarding these guys and to quote one of the greatest minds of our time: "What a tool!"

Yup, I listened to that Sheepstar video in its entirety yesterday when Klasse Act posted it. I didn’t see it the 1st time it was posted by Snp.

And I don’t keep up with most of the cults videos, but after the Sheepstar vid. and watching this recent Chelsea vid I couldn’t help but notice how she made it a thing to point out that it was a sponsored video and that she was an employee of Thor through the podcast or whatever. So it seems like the Sheepstar cracked the whip to a certain extent?

This is like razors...when everything was two blades...then Gillette came out with 3, and Schick just decided F it, we'll go to 4, and so Gillette jumped to 5. I'm surprised nobody went to 6 yet. Maybe there will be a Pan razor with 7 blades.

He said in the comments (when he closed them) that his concerns had been addressed, so I guess...yes.

It's because she is giving away a free Quivr snow foam cannon
And the question was " What does Quivr mean"

Yea but what kind of tool decides to chime in with the same information that the previous 40 people have just provided?

That used to happen on this forum back in the days, some people would parrot what 1-2 guys had already said and I would always find it a bit annoying.

That and the people who would recommend products or methods that they had never actually tried themselves.. I think that 1 was 1 of the things that finally drove me to stop lurking and finally register an account on here. I anticipated getting into arguments with some of those people.lol.

Because it goes off the comments name 1 comment per person = 1 entry on the give away product.

I watched the whole video a couple day's back, i have been banned from the comments section on THOR and Chelsea's own channel since
(Sheepstar) video.

Oh, so they were trying to win some free prize? And you’re right, I didn’t watch the whole video, you’ve got a stronger gut than I do, because I had about all I could handle rather quickly and had to bail out. Lol.

Thx for explaining that twice. I understand now.

We went from the 3 bucket method to the 3 foam method lol. This industry cracks me up. I saw someone commenting on FB about new detailing buckets that had to be 7 gallons and that you need 3 to wash. I think they were ADS and they cost (wait for it) $300.00....You know we need the clear buckets to be coo. Unreal.

Seriously though, Autofiber has some nice translucent buckets with gallon markings on them, I got a 3.5 gal, it's 10 bucks now, they also have a 5 gallon for $13. I guess not as cool as clear, though :p

I remember when I first joined what is now the Autopia Forum, it was called "Truth in Detailing" ...

I remember when I first joined what is now the Autopia Forum, it was called "Truth in Detailing" ...
That's not exactly right. Not to lecture...but Autopia.org was extant from 1999, I believe, I joined there in 2004. It was owned by David Bynon, who ran the affiliated Autopia Car Care web store. Todd Helme was one of the early picture-heavy thread posters, (this was way back when he had a high end detailing business called Bella Machina), and suddenly a lot of Classic Motoring Accessories/Proper Auto Care (CMA/PAC) started showing up in his threads.

David B. didn't like that since CMA was a competitor, so he banned him. It turned out Todd had started working at CMA in some capacity. In...retaliation? Todd started the Truth In Detailing (TID) forum as an adjunct to the CMA/PAC store.

In 2006 (I think), Palm Beach Motoring Accessories, the parent of Autogeek, started this forum. There was also another forum called Detail City, owned by Dwayne McPeeks (I'm not sure he was the founder of the forum, but he ended up with it). In around 2010, David B sold his Autopia holdings, selling Autopia.org to 3D (Tunch), and Autopia Car Care (ACC) was absorbed into Four Star/Premium Finish Care, who was the manufacturer of the Ultima and Sonus lines for ACC.

Somewhere in that time frame, Dwayne came to work at Autogeek, and Four Star sold the ACC store to PBMA (which somewhere along the way became Palm Beach Motoring Group, PBMG). Since 3D owned the autopia.org forum, and PBMG wanted to have a forum associated with the ACC store, they agreed to buy Detail City from Dwayne, and rename it AutopiaForums.com

Autopia Forums was launched with some fanfare and attracted a number of new users. I think the next event was CMA went out of business, and the IP was purchased by PBMG, which included the Blackfire brand. At that point Todd Helme came to work at PBMG, and the TID forum was folded into AutopiaForums. After Tunch got tired of Autopia.org, and after a lot of forum bitching about two forums having the same name and which was the "real" Autopia, Tunch agreed to sell Autopia.org to PBMG, at which point Autopia.org and AutopiaForums.com (consisting of Autopia Forums, Detail City and Truth in Detailing) were folded together into Autopia.org.

Anyway, excuse my verbosity, it's just that Autopia was Autopia, Truth In Detailing didn't become Autopia, TID came along later.

I should mention there was at one time a store associated with Detail City, I don't remember if it was called Detail City or something else, I was never a member of DC, I just used to lurk there. It was a Poorboy-heavy forum.

Great trip down memory lane. Can you imagine if you had to draw that "family tree" lol

That's quite the soap opera. Being new to any type of detailing when I first joined TID, I was only interested in what works and how to use it, basically the truth. Not really surprised at the history/drama you described, but still rather interesting. Thanks.

This is why I avoid EC Details. No grown man has any business posing for a picture like this on a Utoob thumbnail. I can’t take people like this seriously.

I would guess to say that in general some people like to reply weither in a forum or even replying to someone thru a coversation thru text message that not everybody reads everything or the whole message before shooting off a reply. Now that can get annoying too.

"Hey dumbass...did you not read my last message?" Lol
