Did they get the idea from lipstick?? I know some lipsticks have wax in them and maybe even all of them do. Of course we know lipsticks are dyed. Edit: A quick search for the dyes in lipstick got me this.... The first thing that came up: Maybe...?

    New guy realizing small mistakes

I would have never guessed that you disliked swirls...*looks at username*...oh wait :D We've all had some bad habits. I think it's hilarious that you found an older picture and questioned yourself on why you did that. Too funny. Makes me want to go through all my past car washing pictures.

But it's an exotic car- they'll detail it right!

I would be curious as to know how many autogroups would be interested in contracting work being done by a professional detailer. This particular auto group has a PDR and wheel repair guy that works full time as 'contracted help'. *Not all dealers are bad though Listen to this guy about...

But it's an exotic car- they'll detail it right!

I have the ability to visit 35 dealers (I think) basically whenever I want. (Some are out of state, but we visit them when on vacation...GF is in charge of them) Let me tell you: there is some scary stuff that goes on, so I've made it a goal of mine to teach as much as I can whenever I'm there...

Rupes polisher at 7:16 on the cart to the left? Bentley dealers are sometimes no different than a BMW dealer; they still don't know much of anything about detailing and the egos are worse.

New Lexus - anyone know what coating Lexus sells?

What happens is they say it lasts 2-5-10 years, but in fact its only a sealant. Usually they are acrylic sealants and they work, but are applied poorly. What they are actually selling is a warranty on the paint or interior and not the actual application of whatever product it may be. The 5-10...

"I wonder if that guy is on the forum"

I was just thinking that the other day. Saw a near flawless black Toyota Camry with a nice looking dressing on the tires.

Having an Issue After I Foamed my Car - Help!

That's good. Well your form looks good; proper weight distribution, two hands on the hose/wand and neck position is perfect. Make sure you get under the seat real well, let it dwell and evaporate on its own.

Having an Issue After I Foamed my Car - Help!

The only problem is that you're wearing sandals when it's winter time. That's a huge no-no. Shame on you.

I Need Help Determining What This Tire Dressing Is!

But there is a difference in silicones: PDS- Polydimethylsiloxane DMS- Dimethalsiloxane StockPolo6R is correct...DMS is used in solvent based dressings; this is the culprit. Not all silicones are bad.

    Alcantara Help?

Tools I use to CLEAN my alcantara with no problems: 1. Boars hair brushes 2. Low GSM Micro Fiber towels 3. Lift off carpet cleaner (basically acts as an extractor) 4. Terry towels for extra scrubbing power 5. Folex (diluted) 6. Adams Carpet and Upholstery cleaner 7. Woolite/Dreft (diluted)...

    Dare me go ahead.

...because you can get the Cobra Guzzler combo kit for ~$24 and free shipping right now. That towel possibly could fall apart very quickly, not work as advertised and overall not be very good quality. (Of course this is an assumption, but it's probably true) Get something that's been proven...

    Help

Consider that when its cold out you lose absorbency. Much harder to do everything in colder weather; including drying a car. This is assuming of course that you JUST started noticing this.
