*meh* experience with old school PC 7424

Don't need to clay, just go ahead and polish. You can literally just use a towel and a finishing polish if you want to. Wipe a few times, and then re-coat.

    Wolfgang SiO2 spray sealant

When it comes to cost for any siloxane based spray coatings, I definitely believe that Wolfgang SiO2 spray is better for the money than Mother CMX or Meguiar's Ceramic. Mothers CMX and Meguiar's ceramic at their cheap prices lack a strong bonding agent in the, hence the price. Bonding agent is...

Woof, I bet you got some rubber to clean off of the paint after hahaha nicely done

Quickest application and longevity of protection

Ya the hydrophobic factor is an indicator of the beading agent. There's some LSPs that aren't made to be hydrophobic, it just depends on the chemical mixture. Cancoat's weakness is that it needs to remain thin to be able to be sprayed out, so per ounce, it's much less concentrated in terms of...

Can you use a sealant with an all in one

I would suggest the SiO2 spray sealant. If you use Jewelling wax specifically, because it contains carnauba and the oils that goes along with it, any synthetic stuff won't really bond to the paint properly. However if you use the SiO2 spray sealant, the solvent in there is actually most likely...

Quickest application and longevity of protection

You gotta remember that protection and beading are two different things. I can add a beading agent to water and it can make your paint bead like crazy. Won't protect it against much though. Best way to test protection vs beading is after the beading is gone, hose the area dry it. Then take...

Mold-like stains on plastic around dash air vents

Hey Jrock, I would suggest using mineral spirits on those spots. Keep a towel with a lot of water on it to wipe off. Give it about 6 or 7 seconds then scrub with the wet towel.

Wolfgang Uber Ceramic Spray Coating - First Impressions Video

To be honest if a respirator isn't recommended for a coating, I get suspicious. There has to be a certain concentration for the coating to be durable and for that, you need a certain kind of solvent or at least, a good smoothing agent for the SiO2/whatever to remain soluble in water.

First attempt with BF One Step

It's interesting that spray waxes are stereotyped as in not performing well enough but to be honest, technology has come a long way. I would say I can pick probably 10 of the right products off the shelf right now and they are more than capable of lasting beyond paste wax or liquid sealants.

Hood covered in speckled dots, wetsand? More compounding? Clearcoat failure?

Ceramic coating won't do anything for that. I would suggest a full frontal PPF. Coat it to protect the paint against chemical damage and the like but for pure physical trauma, PPF is the way to go.

Boars hair wheel brush. Worth the upgrade?

Hey Tom, try this with the brush. I don't know if you use fall out removers or not, but let's just say you spray down a wheel with Iron X or something similar. Agitate the wheel after it starts bleeding purple especially on those big multi-spoke rims that are popular with a lot of manufacturers...

Quickest application and longevity of protection

You can use Optiseal on everything except for Interior glass. And it is one of the quickest and longest lasting protections you can get. Plus the chemistry supports the actual protection level behind it.

Hood covered in speckled dots, wetsand? More compounding? Clearcoat failure?

I would say if you cant feel it with your nails, it's because years of sand blasting has smoothed it out. The paint itself is gone so compounding wont do anything.

    Coating and coating sprays

Short answer on my part. There wre only about three or four products that are made and designed to be true coating toppers. Everything else is just siloxane and PDMS products that have nothing really to do with prolonging coatings.

Hood covered in speckled dots, wetsand? More compounding? Clearcoat failure?

IPA is usable but it's not great. No lubrication really. I mean like a dedicated oil remover like CarPro Eraser or something like that. If that didn't work, it's honestly just sand blasting and unless you repaint, eh. It is what it is.

Hood covered in speckled dots, wetsand? More compounding? Clearcoat failure?

That is from sand blasting on the highway. What's your paint code? Because your paint could be on the super hard side. I suggest 6 passes with M105 on the cutting pad, and then try 4 passes with the sonax perfect finish. What kind of a polisher are you using? Edit: Sorry, it's sand blasting...

    Maintenance wash how-to?

Try not to use Reset if you're using anything other than a true coating. It will eat away at your LSP if you're not careful about dilution or if you leave the soap on the paint for too long.
