Need advice! New found problems in freshly corrected black paint, strange lines or cracking.

If you look closely at your clear, I'm sure you can see it is cracked in all those spots that you see (crows feet like stated above). Once those cracks get filled with compound, they stand out big time.

    Coating WITHOUT Correction??

Geez, this thread is still going. I think people take stuff way too personal sometimes. I coated a car a couple years ago without correction, and I would do it again. Guy was 82 years old and set in his ways, didn't want to pay for a polish and was more than happy with the results. I've since...

    Coating WITHOUT Correction??

I never said I apply a coating without proper prep. I would apply a coating without polishing. My Cquartz box says nothing about polishing before coating.

    Coating WITHOUT Correction??

All of my coating jobs are prepped properly and last as advertised by the manufacturer.

    Coating WITHOUT Correction??

My goal is to make my customers happy as I'm a full time detailer. I give them options, explain the benefits etc. If they don't want their car polished, I wouldn't do it and still coat the car. My goal is customer satisfaction and if my customer just wants the car coated so it's protected...

Any one mix various product brands together?

I have a bottle labeled FrankenDetailer that's a mix of all kinds of spray waxes, detailers, quick shine etc. I did it for fun with a bunch of stuff that was almost gone. I gotta say, it works pretty darn good.

    How to cleanup spilled milk?

This is a case where a carpet extractor is your only hope. Steam ain't gonna suck the milk out of your carpet, that's for sure.

    Speedy Surface Towel.....Sticky??

Never had an issue with mine sticking and have used them on hundreds of cars so far. One of the best detailing products I have bought in a long time and I don't miss the traditional clay bar in the least.

    For the love of Nanoskin!

Agreed, I have all kinds of clays of various brands and aggressiveness, but I haven't used them in about a year. The nanoskin towels is what I use and it is a massive time saver. I couldn't go back to a clay bar unless necessary after using a nanoskin towel.

    Minor hail damage- DIY PDR?

I would say I'm at 100% with seeing people attempt PDR themselves and making it look worse, way worse. You cannot watch some youtube video and get good at PDR. It takes training first then practice what they taught you. If you go at it blindly just trying to figure it out, it's never, ever going...

    Minor hail damage- DIY PDR?

You can buy PDR tools, but 99% of the time when people try to do this themselves it looks worse than it did before (especially on the hood and roof). I would just find a good PDR guy and pay to have it done by a pro.

Best hose size for shop vac when used to clean interior?

It's not the manufacturers, it's the pro carpet cleaners themselves. Head on over to any carpet cleaner forum and see how many still use 1.5" hoses, almost none. 2" is the way to go and Mytee now uses 2" internally on their extractors vs. the old 1.5" due to more flow. Just passing the info...

Best hose size for shop vac when used to clean interior?

I'm with you on the loss of suction and I think anyone that owns the smaller hose will tell you it loses suction, and a lot of it. All professional carpet cleaners I know have switched from smaller diameter hoses to larger ones since they get better try times due to more water being pulled out...

Best hose size for shop vac when used to clean interior?

I do a ton of interior and mainly use my 2.5" hose. I do have the ridgid auto detail kit with the 1.25" hose and the loss of suction is extreme, and also it gets clogged easily if your vacuuming up large particles. I can now see why so many professional carpet cleaners are changing out their...
