    sonax wheel cleaner

+1 Sonax is way over hyped. Stick to mothers as it's a very good general wheel cleaner. Mothers cleans just as well as sonax, imo.

    Clay foam block...Help!

Use the rubber side on the paint. Break it in on the glass first. Its pretty aggressive and will marr the paint so expect to use at least a light polish afterwards.

How far gone is this leather?

Those are some heavy crack and looks like it either has to be reupholstered or refinished (though I dont know the durability of refinished seats, many say it is just as good as factory). There are a few people who have refinished their seats with great success. For the suede sand paper and/or...

    Detail Panel by Panel

For the majority of the cars I will do the entire car once around but when you get into multi-day corrections I feel doing it panel by panel makes it easier as it helps to trick your mind so the task at hand is not as daunting.

    Ceramiclear Paints - Be Careful

You're safe Mark. You're car just has a hard a** high solid clear coat. Ceramics are mostly on VW/Audi, Mercedes, etc. Those European cars. ____ While this IS bad news for the detailing community there is still some good that can come out of it. I know for sure now with this new...

    Shoe Polish on Trim?!?!?

Don't use it in direct sun or extreme heat as it would flash to fast and on small trim only. You can use it on bigger pieces with a spray gun but at that point its best to use SEM trim/bumper coating.

    Shoe Polish on Trim?!?!?

Thats exactly what I do. I give it 30 mins to set and fully evaporate before I top with UTTG or ETS. I am looking at the new solution finish but right now there are no solid durability tests so Im sticking to what works for me.

    Shoe Polish on Trim?!?!?

I use it to redye trim. What uou said is correct. It lasts for well over a year. However you just dontt just any old shoe polish. You have to use leather dye. Its a waterbased dye that works exactly the same as foreverblacks trim restorer. For smaller trim pieces it works great but for larger...

Opti bond tire gel - is there a trick to this?

Are you fully stripping your tires of all old dressings? That could interfere with the full absorption of optibond.

    Meguires 151

For a super quick 1 step with d151 I leave the residue on the paint and allow it haze as I work around the car as you would a wax. Once I've finished polishing the entire car I go back and remove the residue in conjunction with either JW AJT or OCW to give added durability with no real...

Just read worst products i've bought Post

Wow! Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. After a while of being on the forums you'll realize what Fred said is true. While its true that some people here are hobbiest/professionals the majority of people who come in here are completely new to detailing with no knowledge...

    Post Your Unpacking Pictures

Why would you want the new version? From what I heard(thought I could be wrong), the new version is less aggressive than the old.

    Sealant PO85RD With?

EZ creme will work perfectly fine underneath a sealant. I think he was just making a general statment on glazes as the majority of them out there are oil based vs something like CG ez/DWG/wetglaze 2.0. However dont believe everything you see about glazing effecting the bonding of sealants. I...

    OCW streaks

With optimum products, less is more. Next time, in addition to using less ,also spray the towels and not directly on the paint.

    Diluting IronX paste for spray?

I don't think it would be a good idea. Ironx paste is suppose to be more concentrated then the regular spray but I don't believe it is concentrated enough to be diluted, especially at 15:1. I only mix the two to give the spray better viscosity as they are similar in structure. Mixing that high...

    Topping Sealant+Wax=Wasteful

This is a somewhat old thread... Anyways, like some have mentioned topping is solely dependent on the user. If you feel that it adds in someway to the paint who am I to say it doesnt. I myself am a purest when it comes to LSP's and choose it for its characteristics. I am talking from a...

Ultima Paint Guard on new BMW wheels

I think you missed cleaning the barrels. :p UPGP is great on the wheels. Its so easy to apply and very durable. I used to use it in conjunction with DG AW in between washes to keep it fresh. But I've since switched to wolfs rim shield and wheel cleaner(wheel cleaner with nano sealants) on my...

    Diluting IronX paste for spray?

I dont dilute it with water but 1oz of ironx paste in 15oz of regular ironx is what I use. It gives the regular ironx much better cling instead of running off the paint or wheels.
