going from a painted trim piece back to regular trim. tips/ideas?

well i went ahead and did a test part and it went ok. i initially did a chemical strip with bumper stripper (plastic safe stripper). and brush scrub to remove loose paint. it was 99% clean except for some fine mesh areas which won't be noticeable unless you are shoving a flashlight at it from 2...

going from a painted trim piece back to regular trim. tips/ideas?

bump. nobody has tried sanding and then using a trim coating like c4 or endura shine afterwards with good or bad success?? about to go try it, but i have no test pieces, the last thing i want is a coating impregnated into the surface of the plastic ruining the adhesion for paint later if it has...

going from a painted trim piece back to regular trim. tips/ideas?

the front wiper cowl of my supra was painted by a previous owner, it was a terrible job, auto hobby store paint so the clear cracked and peeled terribly on it. i was planning on stripping it and just repainting it the same color as the car, but after stripping it it would look just as good in...

    Paint jobs?

for 299 you get what you pay for. they will remove nothing. just tape around things like headlights, taillights, moldings and trim. that rough tape line could translate into peeling later also. for the 299 you'll get a single stage paint. it'll likely be prepped as fast as possible to get in...

response from car wash about touchless

sounds like a pretyped message to people worried about their brushes. note, they talk about ph levels but don't really give details about the products that have a "higher ph". they just claim that the competitor is going to throw acid on your car more or less. and they don't bother will saying...

Just saw my first 2015 Mustang....OH NO!

except for 3.0 inline 6 engines making almost 2000 hp in road cars.... the replacement for displacement IS turbocharging/supercharging/compound turbos. displacement gives more air for the mixture, hence why stroking and boring provides power, more air in the cylinder for combustion. you skip...

Giveaway! Who wants to test and review the DP Tire Coating Kit?

Awesome! i agree to write a review, it's great that PBMA is coming out with more and more competative products, i would love to test this on my Tundra and Sequoia, one has old worn out tires and the other has brand new tires! it would be interesting to see which one lasts the longest and if it...

    Microfiber Madness wheel brush

right, but its still annoying that the thing literally slings dirty soap everywhere! lol. brush was great for about the first 3 uses, then i got tired of taking a shower after washing the car because i was covered in brown spots from flinging dirt.... if they had made the bristles a bit tighter...

Will sanding remove this from headlights?

i would go back and ask them if they think it's reasonable to have headlights entirely replaced every 3 years due to cracking... 3 years is way too soon to have headlights do that.

    Has anyone use D114

2 ounces in a 5 gallon bucket is going to yield roughly what the regular mix ratio is. i don't think when someone fills a 5 gallon bucket, that they are filling it to the brim. from what i do and what i have seen everyone do in their videos posted, most people put 4 gallons in a 5 gal bucket...

    Australian Concours d'Elegance....I'm ashamed

one thing that hasn't been mentioned. some people just don't look at paint the same way, shine is shine. what they care about is the car itself, who made it, what memory it holds. etc etc etc... they may not even be aware that their paint is in "bad shape". best to go and ask them if they have...

    Has anyone use D114

this, i thought i misread the ratio on 115.... yikes.. more cost effective to clean with 114, then do a spraywax or something right after.

Kink free garden hose and pressure washer hose

i bought a flexzilla 100' hose and it is nice. a whole lot better than i expected it to be... doesn't kink whatsoever when dragging around a car, to kink it you literally have to twist it up and pull on it hard before it stops flowing. good stuff.

    CarPro Immortal - Self-Healing Coating

i'm a person who only buys used cars and keeps them well maintained, its a matter of cost vs time.. my time for repairing them is worth the cost of not dealing with new car depreciation. i wholeheartedly agree that people don't quite understand how much money is spent when somebody walks into a...
