    MicroFiber towels for cleaning tires

I generally use old cotton terry towels on the tires soaked in OPC, another APC, or car wash soap if the brush doesn't get them clean. I don't seem to have as tough time with black staining of towels with UTTG and WETS as dressings, so they come clean pretty easily. I can normally dry with a...

Does opti-coat protect against swirls & chips?

Thanks Chris. Even though OC is a permanent coating, my cars are always getting pelted by flying garbage from the LA freeways. I've been hit by plywood, cardboard boxes, truck tire pieces, rocks, and pieces of metal over the years that got kicked up from cars in other lanes. Sadly, it's...

    Need a couple of recommendations

My current fav is the Optimum (bought another gallon) car wash but have not tried the Dodo. Cost per wash is reasonable, smells good, good suds and lubricity. You might want to also try DG 901 and Ultima as you try new car washes. I think that Optimum Car Wash was available as a sample if you...

Does opti-coat protect against swirls & chips?

Optimum polish or finish ok to "scuff" the section? How long will the syringe of OC 2.0 last once it's opened if I need to "fix" a section or panel?

Okay to wax a few days later?...

Protect if you plan to drive it. A light cleaning before moving on with the glaze if you leave it in the garage.

Does opti-coat protect against swirls & chips?

Hey Chris, My biggest concern with Opti-coat is the need to completely remove the coating if I need to fix a section. God knows that my cars are constantly pelted with SoCal freeway debris. Not a big issue with waxes or sealants for a buck or two but I would love some true body armour. Do I...

Need help getting a PC7424XP setup

One other thought. When correcting, you will probably need one cutting pad per section. These pads can either be fresh, clean pads or a pad that is cleaned during the process. I had to clean my pads often since I didn't have enough pads to correct. If you consider the following sections...

Need help getting a PC7424XP setup

The Megs Twins are very good. M105 is a strong compound. M205 is a polish. You can vary the pad aggressiveness and the chemical (compound/polish) depending on the paint. You might remove light swirls with the M205 and an orange pad (depending on your definition of light). You might need M105...

Need help getting a PC7424XP setup

Have not tried the Einzett. Ulimate Trim and Tire Guard or Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant are working well in my hands. Both hold up to rain and car washes well. PCXP thoughts I'm happy with my PCXP but others prefer the Megs and Griot's units. Maybe I'm just fat and happy at this point...

Anyone else not like using gloss enhancing products(other than the LSP)??

Wet Glaze 2.0 from the Detail Shop is supposed to be outstanding. My local supplier went out of business so I never got around to trying it. Too many products and not enough time...

To Glaze or Not to Glaze?

Jeff, What glaze did you use and in what shape was the F-150 hood that you applied it. You may not see huge improvements from perfectly corrected paint other than maybe a pop in gloss. If the swirls are really bad, "you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear" either.

    Layering Fuzion?

I get good coverage with one coat of Fuzion with a DA on a crimson pad. I may add another coat in week or more. I also use Fuzion over DGPS for a 2 product combo. Finally, I often use OCW over Fuzion or DGPS to recharge the wax/sealant about 1x per month. The two waxes seem to be compatible...

To Glaze or Not to Glaze?

I have not tried it so it would not be fair to have an opinion. I would love to hear how it works for you.

To Glaze or Not to Glaze?

The EZ Creme. IPA just helps remove residual polishing agents and oils for a squeeky clean surface ready for wax or sealant. Since some people apply multiple coats of sealant for added protection, there has to be binding of the new coat of polymers to the existing sealant and not just to the...

Anyone else not like using gloss enhancing products(other than the LSP)??

I also believe that QDs can change the look of a LSP. I personally think there are subtle optical differences between different waxes, sealants, QDs and even soaps. I don't like how some QDs and spray waxes work with my favorite sealants and waxes. Some of these products seem to work better...

Product Recommendations - Critique my list!

Good list. Surbufs or MF cutting pads for more cut with TSR or M105 if you need to cut. The OPT Polishes and Compounds are great chemicals. I like both the WG twins and the Megs Twins. I "fixed" my 99 BMW paint with the WG twins and 6.5" orange and white CCS pads. (I highly recommend 5"...

    sonax wheel cleaner

It's a good wheel cleaner. It does not seem to strip tire dressings like some cleaners. Just a heads up. Make sure that the wheels are cool when you spray them. Don't pre-rinse the wheels (or let them dry) before application. You may see some rust formation on your rotors in excess vs...

What's the Limit of DA Correction with 105?

Surbufs and M105 kicked the swirls butt on my friend's VW convertable. I used M105 with Cyan HT's with good luck on a C class Mercedes the day before with good luck too. The Surbufs were rather incredible. I have not used the Meg MF pads yet but used CG's MF pads with succcess. I would...

Seats looking worse with each Leatherique application.

The cracks in the leather were "probably" already there. I have the same issue but saw the cracks before I used the leatherique. On my new car's new leather, no issue. 10 year old leather with wear, you will see it. I plan to redye my seats to fill the cracks and smooth the leather. Just...
