Where were you on Sept 11 2001?

I was on the Gulf of Mexico fishing for Red Snapper on a free day from a week long sales meeting. We just pulled up a bunch of Snappers and were moving to a new fishing site to catch something else. One of our sales reps stuck his head out of the boat's cabin and called out that Tower one was...

    sonax wheel cleaner

No pressure washer for me. Sorry. I've now tried Sonax twice. Seems to work pretty well but OPC works quite well for 1/10 the price. I have after the fact pics on my wife's camera but not for this post. However. WETS on the rims and tires. Clay and Fusion on the Mercedes C class and my...

To Glaze or Not to Glaze?

Some glazes are compatible with sealants and some may not be. Check with the vendor. I almost always used glazes with carnaubas to add gloss, feed the paint (great for SS and does seem to help clearcoat) and now occasionally with some sealants. If the paint is perfectly prepared, the need for...

Depends on what the cause of the white mark. Peanut butter Plastic polish (normally my best bet) APC (various) IPA (didn't do much for me) Mineral spirits (sometimes yes and sometimes no) Glycerin Trim dressings Still trying stuff. What vehicle do you own?

Heat Gun vs. Products for Trim - Risks?

A heat gun such as to shrink insulation or blister paint for removal is used to heat faded plastic trim. You are not trying to cook the plastic just kind of open pores from what I understand. I have not been willing to try it but I suggest that you check You Tube for videos.

Heat Gun vs. Products for Trim - Risks?

And real chrome bumpers polished to a glisten. By the way, very cool 327 bimmer. Sure don't make them like that anymore.

Heat Gun vs. Products for Trim - Risks?

I have a 99 BMW with a few splotchy spots on one corner section of the front bumper. Drives me crazy. By the way, IPA and MS made the trim look worse for me. Peanut butter didn't work. Zymol Seal Conditioner didn't work. I thought that it was wax but I can't figure out what is really in the...

    Just did a side-by-side - help please!

What type of vehicle? I found that I needed less M105 with the surbufs. Ron's right on with the 5-6 setting and 15lbs of pressure. Nice slow movement. Tape off an 18" square to make sure that you are working in a small enough square since you seem to be new to the XP. One of my biggest...

Well, this did not go as planned...

Hmmm. Not married for long? At my wife's great uncle's 65th wedding anniversary. I asked "the" question. Answer: "yes dear" I suggest that you practice that correct answer if you want a long happy married life.

PB Wheel Sealant OR DP Wheel Glaze??

I honestly don't know if you will get any better protection or spray off cleaning from a "dedicated" wheel glaze/sealant vs UTTG. I have been using another brand of wheel sealant for the past couple of years. With the sealant, I can typically just use car soap and brushes to clean up bimmer...

    M105 help - 2002 BMW

Try test spots with different combinations. Try M105 with the Tangerine first before going to the Cyan. I might be wrong but I don't think the M205 will be aggressive enough with either pad to remove swirls. I don't have enough experience with M205 as I usually use the Optimum line of...

    New CarPro Product & Giveaway!

I am planning to apply a coating to one or both of my two bimmers and my buddy's new Honda over the next month. I need to make decision today or tomorrow on which coating to take advantage of the Labor Day sale. I don't particularly like IPA and keep looking for a good prewax/sealant/coating...

    Polishing Dust Removal

I personally don't like IPA when working with black but IPA is one option. Mineral spirits is another option. ONR is also a reasonable choice. I actually like Megs Final Inspection as a QD for compound/polish removal, especially with soft black paint. It was the best choice for me when...

    Optimum Compound

I finally used the surbufs for the first time with M105 on a VW convertible with blue metallic paint. I was amazed how quickly it removed the swirls. I used Opt HyperCompound with a orange flat pad the night before and it took some time to remove swirls from a Mercedes. Two different paints and...
