I clean real dirty wheels with dedicated wheel cleaner or Meg's D101 APC. I clean tires with Meg's D101. I maintain wheels with a soap/water mix in a foaming sprayer. So 3 things instead of just 1, but the system works exceptionally well for me.

Kind of random, but if I remember correctly styrofoam is a petroleum distillate... Or maybe it was a by product. But just goes to show that a petroleum distillate can be so many things it's hard to put a blanket statement on the pros and cons of petroleum distillates.

I would use D101 instead. It foams opposed to D103 which doesn't too much, but is the same otherwise. For under the hood and wheel wells, i would rather use a foaming APC to pick up the crud and help lift it away.
