You can tell you stay on top of those wheels but no violation by any means but from cheap paint/paint process, new yorks extra salty roads and or not removeing/protecting the wheels from the harsh break dust efficiently could have caused your problem also the amount of heat these wheels... -

HD adapt Hologoram/Marring
Subaru's paint systems are usally very soft/sensitive to just about everything that touch it therefore you might have been a little to harsh with your combo but at least you can correct yourself hopefully with a less abrasive pad and or product for flawsless shine.....happy detailing- jamesboyy
