    single stage paint.. input please

I did a SS Corvette not too long ago too.. but it was black 1991 i believe. Had a SS repaint a few years back and the paint was harder than hell. I had to use Surbuff & 105 to get swirls out, and wasn't able to get majority of the deeper stuff.

Optimum Giveaway! Chance to win Carpet & Fabric Cleaner & Protectant...

Opti-Coat for sure. I park my car under the tree on purpose now.. just to get the last laugh! This baked in the hawaiian sun all day: [/IMG] and this: I was actually hoping to keep it on there for a week because one of these was a nice white one, and the other had some berries in it...

Dealer wipe downs for $1 per car?

I agree.. but the "detail" on used cars is nothing but a wash, one step (if needed) with a vac, quick shampoo (if needed), windows, wipedown, tires. And new would be a spay off/wipedown until its sold, then it'll get a vac, windows, wipedown, tire shine and wax.believe it or not some dealers...

Dealer wipe downs for $1 per car?

When I used to work at the dealership there was a detail company that came in. They offered the dealership $100 per used car, $50 per new car. The deal was, the cost would cover an initial detail (wash/wax/vac/windows/tires), and they would come back bi-weekly and wash the car for free until it...

Long Term Review Spar vs Opti Pro **PICS**

It didnt sound (read) that you were agreeing with me, more of that you were saying that headlights here were easy since you NEED to sand them there in FL. I apologize if a misunderstood. And I agree, some factory coatings NEED to be sanded, as do clear coated headlamps and others with DEEP...

    Need help choosing extractor!

Sup guys, as the title says.. I need help. My situation: I have a fixed location at a local mall, it's outside so everything either stays in my car, or gets locked up in a Rigid Job box and chained to a pillar. So whatever extractor i get, it has to be able to fit into a typical rigid job box...

Long Term Review Spar vs Opti Pro **PICS**

Yes u got it right. If you inspect thoroughly in between sanding stages and touch up as needed, you should finish awesomely. But i reccommend you try those purple wool pads in 4" and m101 to replace your sanding... so far ive had results equal to sanding from #800 and up as far as oxidation...

Long Term Review Spar vs Opti Pro **PICS**

I think Mr Fusion said, OC wont hide sanding marks and its wasn't designed to I'm sure. If you see sanding marks, its because you didn't inspect properly in between sanding stages before polishing. I always try to cross hatch my sanding from stage to stage. So go one direction with your first...

Long Term Review Spar vs Opti Pro **PICS**

Sorry my bad, been busy. I'll snap a few pics tomorrow. The last time I looked (about 2 weeks ago) the Opti-coat is holding but is showing some signs of breaking down. Its been almost 1 year. In the meantime, i wouldn't hesitate to buy O-Lens. The results so far have been awesome.

    Rupes backing plate screw

This happened to me as well. I think its because the washer shifted prior to being tightened down all the way causing us to tighten it in the wrong position and damaging the backing plate. I spent about 20 minutes re-aligning the washer and backing plate to perfection before tightening down...

Perfectionist Detailing #1 - Compounding & Polishing right up to an edge

I personally think taping takes up too much time, and we use that time to hand polish edges and tight areas on every detail we do that gets polished. I choose polishes that leave no residue on trim, or are easy to remove. A rubber eraser also helps to remove residue from trim if any were to...

I Need Help Determining What This Tire Dressing Is!

I think its safe to say this is not a water based dressing. Water based dressing should come off with water or light APC's. solvent based dressings are much harder to remove as they use solvents to keep them usable until they evaporate. Silicones are found in both water and solvent based...

Head-to-Head cage match - Klasse SG vs. Collinite 845

I use both. Klasse seems to last longer to me IMO. 845 looks plain awesome. Over time Klasse slickness will out do the 845. If your looking for something even better, Wolfs Hardbody! Cheap, easy to apply by hand. Slickness & beading for almost a year. And resists bird poo better than any wax...

    Suggestions: Bulk Exterior trim protectant

Nope didn't miss it, thanks. How long has an application lasted for you? And how much rain does your car get? Its pretty pricey($110 for 128floz), more than PERL ($120ish for 169floz) except PERL can be diluted.
